172 mk2 ph2. sump plug? rocker cover gasket? or could it be anything!! noticed a bit on the path this morning, too dark to look now.

my 172 is the same. around 1800 rpm it doesn't want to know for about 2/3 minutes!!

weird thing is, i pulled down the plastic trim and took the fan out - turned on the ignition and it was quiet as!!!!?????? put it back and buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz???????

sure its there? check up near the interior lights, it could be the climate control sensor fan. common problem it seems!! mine does it.

apparently mine is missing a clip used to hold the plastic trim onto the outside of the door [next to the 2.0 16v sign] so there is a hole in the door [where the clip should be] and theres me problem. anyone know if i can get a clip from anywhere?

i noticed a wet patch in mine this morning [clio that is!] seems to be getting in through the side trim on the door [somehow] then collecting in the rubber seal and trickling into the footwell. might try the "moving seal so gap is at blockage" approach. bloody renaults!!

how accurate is that bloody mpg / miles till next fill-up type stuff? mines saying 57 miles till next fill-up but the needle is in the red!!!

guess i'll answer my own question :D had some time so i pulled down the plastic interior light area to get at the climate control fan, turned on the ignition and.................silence. replaced all the trim and..................buzzy vibrating noise. so i reckon the fan is just...

think i have it too. keeps buzzing when i start the engine [well it would!] any harm in leaving it?
