Did a bit today
Refitted my brakes and fitted the braided lines. Need bleeding but ready to be.
Finish off fitting the coolant hoses, need to bypass the heat matrix pipes tho. Sorted the intake hose aswell and mounted the ecu.
Only update at the minute is I finally got my alternator belt sorted.
Waiting on a few bits to arrive to finish off the engine.
Had new bearings pressed into my hubs so I can fit the shafts and get it back on its wheels to fill the gearbox up with oil. Can also fit the brakes whilst I'm there...
Yesterday's progress.
Fitted the oil cooler hose and lobbed on a new oil filter.
I dug out my ITG and also found my strut brace lol wasn't looking for it but would never had found it if I was so fitted that on aswell.
Also fitted my VBD xtra low seat frame. Now my seat doesn't rest...
Ah ok cool. What where your plans when you had one?
Haha sounds like mine apart from I've just tipped the interior and glass today lol
You can't be far from me then if yours is at Beanie?
Haha hopefully the experience is as good as mine then lol
So I decent length hose before the airfilter is what I need then? Haha. With the 20v engine you only need about 100mm to keep the airmass happy and reading right.
You on standard timing and cams etc? You got a thread on yours?
Main reason is just to be different. I've had bodies before was...
That blue bend is just one I mocked up quick.
I've order different degree bends in black to find the best option. Hopefully can straighten it out a bit.
I nicked the intake off my Leon to see what fit/size/look was like (it's a VWR intake which is basically a ITG air box)
Was thinking along this line with the civic tyre R scuttle scoop.
Have seen a Williams scuttle intake I'll have a look at tho's now
Think to start with I'll use the filter...
Managed a few hours yesterday on the Clio.
Firstly I move the main section of loom underneath the gear box mounting.
Thought it would be easy but was a right pain in the arse.
I then cleaned all my forge coolant hoses and push fitted them to make sure they all fitted nicely.
This...
Chin up bud something will come along. Work always pops up for the people who want to go and get work
Car is coming along nicely. Hope you had a good Xmas despite everything.
On Christmas Eve I decided to bolt the RS2 inlet on to give me an idea of what else needed to be done.
Was only planing to actually put the manifold on but got carried away and put the hole kit on.
Placed the radiator in place to check clearance on the throttle body which was far to close...
I tried that but with the PMS pulleys the inner ribs are deeper compared to the out lip, so I couldn't get a belt that would stretch over the outer lip and then get good tension on the belt.
Is that a cup alternator Tom?
Thanks mate, the bay was proper filthy lol
I tried it with out the PAS delete kit but it look like the belt would catch the water pump (hard to explain) but it would run round the top of crank pulley and under the water pump, then the belt that run off them bottom off the crank pulley up to...
Engine went back in today
Before it did tho I gave the engine bay a good clean
Before
After
Fitted the 1.2 heat shield with new nuts aswell.
Next was to address the alternator setup. I took a chance and order the PMS lightweight pulley kit with PAS delete kit a little...
