The bolt through the bulkhead pulling the two halves of the loom together wasn't tight enough. Doh!

Re: My 172 Cup (T5MY G) 191.2 Bhp & 173.4 Torque Be careful with the loom. I stripped all useless plugs, no cutting involved as everything was traced to the pins etc but the new loom was dead. They seem to be made with black magic.

I removed my loom and on refitting had exactly the same issue. Red immobiliser light and no ecu comms. It turned out that bolt holding the engine to dash loom together wasn't tight enough to make a proper connection. Remove the scuttle and wiggle the loom connector at the back right of the...

Crabbing solved. My spade handed brother has fitted the camber shims the wrong way so I now have -1.5 caster. Car looks good Jim. You can't beat sub 20mpg's!

Just had a misfire diagnosed as a coil pack. This was replaced 12 months ago when the crank sensor died with a 2nd hand unit. Should I buy 2nd hand again for £20ish or buy new and if so where from? How long do they generally last?

Ash, on that note, I bought a Cup loom after you mentioned it a while ago. Does the Cup blower then work as surely the Cup loom removes all of the aircon and Climate plugs?
