Engine --> Lowerinlet manifold has a gasket
Inlet manifold --> Plenum has a gasket
Plenum --> throttlebody has a rubber seal which is in the trottlebody.
All I think of for the exhaust, that the exhaust gasses are blown again the exhaust manifold which will bring heat into the head. But the...
For throttle response reasons I understand, but with the 4 butterfly valves opening there is a faster response right? (just like fitting a bigger single throttle body)
If you can keep standard ecu (which I think you could with fly by wire, as long if the electronics are up to spec) You could...
Sorry for the bump and maybe a re-post

35pounds :)
Who's going to try?
Would be nice, not that I will do. Don't like spending too much on my 172.
But what about jenvey or what with attached the normal fbw motor, instead of the cable operated?? Guess opening 4 valves isn't that much harder for the motor?
Why can't I find ITB with fly by wire anywhere? Are these made anyway?
Would be intresting for the people wanting a increased bhp and torque, but want to keep the ESP/Cruizzz controle/etc.
BTW could someone send me a guide to change the manifold?

I already found something but it's in Frence. Thanks.
I heard someone say I need to leave a bit of a step on the inner arc of the inlet manifold. Has to do with flow dynamics at low revs. I tried to leave .5mm at the top/inner arc of the manifold.
If it's s**t I'll bin it....30€ lost.
@franx
Yeah I read that aswell because there's some bad casting marks inside the runners, but I also read the lower inlet was most important :) We'll see.
Still have that sports cat? PM me!
@Cro-Clio.
The ports might be a bit different from eachother (i'm not a milling-machine). Getting...
LOL yeah I know! The port in the head are 50x30mm.
When measuring from bolt spacing the ports are spot on. Haven't seen the head of the engine, but I guess the lower holes should be in the middle of the ports.
The other thread about the perfected manifold. The ports a made bigger on the...
What should I have done? I matched it to 50x29.5mm in the middle of the gasket print. All ports are 50x29.5 (to the engine that is)
If it doesn't work it just a waste of time and 30€ = 22.5 UK pounds
Before Christmas I won myself a used lower inlet manifold on ebay for 30€ including shipping from France.
Unlike I said on this forum before, I thought why not give portmatching a try anyway. So I went to the gamma (in UK probably like the common WallMart) and got myself some grinding bands...
Not completely right D4ve.
70mm inlet is 3848mm²
100mm inlet is 7853mm²
The 100mm is about 200mm² bigger then the two 70mm.
Anyway where could I buy such a airbox! Seems very good to me. Maybe a partnumber?
Yeah just go...back they'll fill it back up. You paid for it right? They should have run the engine to get the trapped air out.
As above...when it keep going down below there's a problem
LOL
The problem is you need boost and flow.
Have seen these electric chargers with a flow that was almost enough for 2l engine @ 7000rpm...then there will be no boost. Then I thought lets add 2 :). Two identical blowers should about double the flow. Thus generating boost even up to...
Oilfilter change from down below? Sorry could be wrong, but that seems to be the normal way for cars?
Having to demolish your car (read take out the engine ;) ) to change a filter just seems odd to me... If you want I can check out side if it's possible.
Sorry for De-clutching, I am Dutch! :D
Thought engaging the clutch or dis-engaging the clutch.
Anyway. If you drive harder/faster then 90mph does the sound pitch up? So you are sure it isn't whining from the gearbox? uprated gearbox mount and resonating behind the dash??? (not sure only...
Is it an electronic sound then? If so it could be some speed warning. If it's metalic, It could be anything really. (From wheel to gearbox) As I assume it isn't occuring when driving in other gear at 4000 rpm?
Driving faster then 90mph? Is the sound still there? Does de-clutching help removing...
@ GordonD,
I understand you totally, when DIY matching the propability of f**king up and having less torque and stuff is like 90% :D
Anyway the RR isn't with the DIY matched inlet manifold, but with an RS marked inletmanifold. (first run with a PH1 manifold and then with the RS marked...
Yeah I thought so, I never was planning on doing it myself, but the RR result of a RS inlet and the inlet without the RS logo/sign, seems a bit odd to me.
Just posted the DIY link so people could see how to undo and mount the inlet manifold. (BTW you have to scroll down all the way in that...
Browsing the world wide web for information about the inlet flowing and stuff I found this french site.
http://cliors.xooit.com/portal.php
My French isn't the best, but babelfish is so great.
Anyway on that site there is a thread about the flowing of the inlet manifold and plemun just like...
Edde may I ask why you would choose turbo instead of compressor? Maybe you could say something about the pro's and con's of both?
And are there any real electric compressors/ turbo's for cars? (not those ebay things, but that really work) I have seen some hybrid, but that's it.
Lol I didn't see it till I changed my air feed either.
Anyway when you stand on the side of you car (passenger side in UK). And look at the airbox. Where the side feed is...and look a bit to the left. just behing the headlight. You should see the bottom feed.
