, The cams are CCK4088 inlet and CCK4089 on the exhaust
This is whats on the box , and pics of it all
These are a pair of followers and solid lifters built up
and the details on the receipt
I did start a thread earlier in the engine section as I am selling the solid lifter kit I bought to have an ultimate engine built but have changed plans now , and someone has moved the thread to god knows where as I can't see it now.
anyway , I'm not going to have a new engine built now , so...
Wasn't going to bother but my son is doing it in his 205 , and a couple of mates are also doing it so decided to blow off the cobwebs over christmas and do it myself.
I was going to do the loco stages but changed my mind , won't be using it until Epynt and West Cork in March then , but hopefully...
No not really , its with a guy who making me an upright hydraulic handbrake at the mo , can't seem to get the original one to work properly , and rather botch an off the shelf one to fit I'm having one made to fit my car in the place I want it.
Should have it ready to pick up at the end of the...
The rally wasn't the best for us , the first stage was very slippy and as I hadn't done gravel since Rally GB last year I was driving like miss Daisy lol , second stage was a bit better through Sweet Lamb
rally GB 2013 sweet lamb - YouTube
Was really p1ssed off Myherin was cancelled for us ...
Does anyone know if the front arms the same ?
Think I have bent one of mine and have a pair of standard 172 arms and the holes where the outer ball joint bolts on seem to be drilled in a slightly different place
Cheers Ian
The engine sounds very different to before , only since Sandy mapped it , more noticeable at lower revs where he cleaned it up , its a lot more crisp , and more of a bark to it , it feels better above 6k revs to me now as well.
It was on one of the last 2 stages Mike , can't remember which one...
Cheers Tony , forgot to mention we had a very near roll , turned a square left and it tugged into the bank and drove up it , I thought it was over onto its side , gave it full right lock and some throttle and got away with it , just got sent a pic on facebook from one of the photographers on the...
lol thats an old video , but never tires of being funny !
Uploaded another incar last night , this was in the trophy rally on saturday morning , the second stage of the day , but stage 16 in the rally , we were leading the trophy rally at the end of this stage , which was my favourite stage of...
You have to be neat otherwise your off ! some of the other stages we did are on 2 lane roads so you can let rip and get some lines in to really push on , but most of it you need to be neat and tidy
Here is the first incar video I have uploaded , this was our first run through the Trinity stage as the first 2 through there were cancelled due to that big crash

You can see why my car is a bit battered lol
My engine put a rod throught the block
Oh no that was the last engine sorry :rasp:
Engine is running fine , got a real bark to it now after Sandy mapped it , did notice the oil pressure had dropped during the Saturday morning stages but...
Rally hasn't gone to plan , had an off into a granite wall last night and rearranged the front end lol , the following stage was ruined by Andy Corner for us as he got held up by a car ahead of him , he should have carried on at rally speed then spoke to the officials to get his time amended ...
I can make various discs , my discs are made for the calipers and pads I'm using , could have gone with a wider pad area if I needed to , what exact sizes are you looking for ?
I have done a lot of testing between straight and curved veins and found airspeed did NOT increase through the disc with curved veins as a lot will have you believe !
The only way it would be beneficial is if you can attach cowling to the back of the hub fully enclosing the centre of the disc...
Done a bit to te car again tonight , found yesterday the bottom rad hose was leaking slightly , must have been damaged when the rod came out of the side of the block , so ordered a hose kit yesterday which turned up today so fitted them , stripped the modene off as it was leaking oil where it...
fvcking hope not after spending £1500 on them lol !
There are a couple of threads on the rally forum about them , and nothing has been said on there about banning them , and none of the outlets mentioned it after me telling them I want them for rallying ,
Although I bought a new lamp pod last year , along with some good lights with HID bulbs , thought i'd actually get to use them this year after not taking the clio to Jersey last year , but I went to the rallycar show in Castle Coombe last week and seen some new LED spot lights on show , and...
No didn't get any numbers , got those last time on the dyno , just did more work low down to make it crisper and pick up cleaner from 2k
its a lot nicer now : ) jersey here we come .
Just got back from a long day to Cornwall and back having the cars map tweaked , runs a lot cleaner low down now , it's nice and crisp now.
With the 10/60 oil I'm seeing 5.1 bar of oil pressure when it's at running temp , so happy with that
Regarding the oil pump , I wonder if it would work and have more low down pressure if a change of size in the drive on the pump , having a smaller gear made and fitted , along with shortening the chain , that would make the pump spin faster and produce more pressure , the unknown would be how it...
If I got the sums right the saxo is 266hp per ton and my clio is 263 (242hp and 920kg) so not a million miles away , and my car could be made a lot lighter
Yes when I change to Castrol edge 10/60 I might even get a bit more pressure when hot , this tesco stuff is like water !
yes the pressure is higher up the revs , up to say 3k it's about the same as standard , there are some pictures I added of the inside of a pump not so long ago on the link...
Yes going sky high was in my mind as its a bugger to get the sump off with the engine being mounted on the subframe , wasn't looking forward to getting at it to change the shim , if anyone is interested I shimmed it 3.5mm
its weird how some are saying they have over 5 bar standard , but more...
Driving around the trading estate late yesterday afternoon , I saw 5.4 bar of oil pressure at 4k revs , with oil temp at 85 , with my standard race car engine when I bought the car , and the engine that just threw a rod out would see 3.8 bar , this was two different bottom ends , and two...
That's odd then as everyone I have spoken to says 3.5 to 4 bar is the norm ??
even doing a quick search brings up this thread
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?323033-What-is-the-normal-oil-pressure-for-172
you sure your pump is standard , I can see with 10/60 fully synthetic oil...
Put some miles on it today , all seems good so far , interesting to see the oil pressure is going to 5.4bar max now , so nearly 2 bar more than before and that's with crap oil , so shimming the oil pump spring does work :D
