Had my car in at Birchdown yesterday and they've advised that the centre section of my Scorpian RS192 has got two cracks in it (quite common from what I gather)
They seemed to think I should be able to get it welded but I wondered whether its worth trying to claim under the lifetime guarantee...
Just thought I'd follow this up incase anyone else gets similar problems. Had the car in at Birchdown (top blokes) and the error was the downstream oxygen sensor.
They fitted a new Renault CAT fitting kit as it wasnt a proper one on there so was most probably blowing so will see how it goes.
If it was collapsing it wouldn't be running very well at all, he'd be struggling to get it past 4 -5k.
Yep the overfuelling would contribute to power loss.
A CAT wont normally fail on its own either, its most likely been "burnt out" if your car has been overfuelling for some time.
Personally id email them saying you will accept said offer and wont go any lower. Say you'd prefer for them to look at it first before agreeing to give you the money, keeps it outside ebay.
I also think if someone was genuinely interested they would phone you rather than just throw in an offer...
Mine got replaced at 63k after the cambelt was done and has been serviced regularly. It's either £170 more now or if it does go £500+ later. Personally I'd do it.
A Mito is a bit more up market than a Clio though. The dash in my 182 and the factory sat nav both look like they were made by fisher price. Each to their own though.
I cant believe they put a sat-nav in a clio. It looks awful when manufacturers try and put expensive toys in cheap cars and the pics prove my point. Just sticks of fail IMO.
Would 14" wheels fit a 182 or would they not clear the brakes? Only asking as ill need a spare set so i can my turinis refurbed and could get a set of 14" steelies for next to nothing.
Still think the price is OK as it stands. Its a 2 owner car and its got the Recaro's (which if you're bothered about having will set you back £700 - £800.
The lack of history isn't ideal but its still worth a look at £3350 IMO.
Bet if you were waving £3200 cash in his face he would take it.
I think its about right for the money. That isnt a full history and its not ideal it comes with 1 key, but its cheap for a RB with the Recaros. You can never expect tax from a dealer so that doesnt really come into it.
Up to you though if somethings not right dont bother.
Sounds OK, its a fair way though and £75 a wheel for the anthracite is a bit more than i wanted to pay, and that's assuming they don't charge VAT on top.
Can anyone recommend somewhere in / near Shropshire i can get my turini's refurbed / powdercoated.
Want somewhere decent really that will take the tyres off and refurb the whole alloy.
Cheers
Ben
