Are we talking specifically about the 1*2 or cars in general. Moderns cars it’s best to just get in them and drive them, don’t need to be left idling it’s not god for them. I’m basing this knowledge on my extensive skills of google.

the heat link replaces your current thermostat. Then the new thermostat tell the heat link to switch on and off the boiler.

mines old too, an old Honeywell thermostat. But was really simple. love switching the heating on one the way home though. Well worth it.

just to make you feel better, the one that’s now £178 at screw fix was £100 not so long ago and it’s so easy to fit. I’d fit them all days for £89 a go!

just get an electric one, they connect to the car batter. Have to wiggle the pipe about in the dipstick to get the last dregs out but works well enough.

I’m confused how you lot are finding it easier to Jack the car up, take the undertray off, remove sump plug, get new washer then refit as being easier than sticking a tube in the dipstick and sit back and relax while the pump sucks the oil out.

If it’s done it once, I wouldn’t worry it’s a french car.

I know it’s not the same car, but my fiesta ST sounded like a diesel. I just think it’s the way this era of the smaller turbo engines sound.
