I want to replace the front door speakers for my valver. Are there any that drop straight into the existing holes so I dont have to do any drilling etc? I assume they are a standard size but sometimes the mounting holes on aftermarkets dont match up to the holes in the door.
If the revs are dropping its the idle potentiometer. I got one from a breakers yard for a fiver and it cured my problem. It is dead easy to get on and off with a stubby phillips driver.
Regarding the idle increase to 1400 rpm or whatever mine does exactly the same. Due to other faults the...
Yes mate I did it last weekend. It took about 10 hrs and was an absolute b**ch! If you had two people doing it you could do it in alot less time. Get one of you to follow the haynes manual for taking the dash out and a friend to start taking the windscreen wipers etc off to get access to the...
Not too sure about problems with steering etc but if I was buying another one id spend at least an hour checking the following.
Take the car out and get your foot down a bit, get in 4th or 5th and see if the car pulls away smoothly at low speeds, if there is any slipping of the clutch this is...
Leave it as it is, looks nice. Nothing needs doing to it at all, it sits nice and low, your side repeaters are clear and the wheels look wicked on the blue clios. Also helps when you come to sell it leaving things reasonably standard.
And people wonder why the police take a firm stance with cruises. I have never been on one, and never want to go on one. All the Halfords posse in their Novas doing handbrake turns. No im far too mature for that, id rather annoy sales reps on the M6.
I did this a couple of weeks ago and some guy from TorsionTuning or something like that pointed me in the right direction.
In the haynes manual it says there is a coolant bleed screw somewhere on the back of the block but i couldnt find it. Dont know if this is the right way to do it but it...
Ive seen loads of posts on here regarding heater matrixs dying on clios etc and after putting up with a cold car for the last couple of months i decided it was time to replace mine. If anyone is thinking of doing this, pay the money and get a garage to do it as its a b**ch of a job.
The first...
What year is your car? Ive got a spare one at home you can have for what I paid for it. It is for a 1991 or early 92 16v. Mine is a late 92 and for some reason they changed the ECU so its no use to me. Let us know how you get on with the chipping as I have filter and decat+stainless and wouldnt...
I need to order a heater matrix for my 1992 clio 16v. Apparently there are two different matrixs fitted to the most of the Renault range, upto 1998. Anyone any ideas as to which one will be the right part for mine? Anyone done this job recently and ordered the part? Like I say the car is a late...
Not a good idea to drive around with little coolant in your engine as it can cause all kinds of problems. There is no need to drain all your coolant to change the pipe just get rid of the coolant in the expansion tank (reservoir) so it doesnt spill in your engine bay when you disconnect the...
I remember seeing a reputable car programme, cant remember which one is it was but they had a VTS, a Fiesta Zetec S and a horrible Vauxhall Corsa Sri type sport thing. The Fiesta won in every repect and got a quicker time than the Saxo. The Corsa got slated and rightly so. I had the misfortune...
There is a Renault breakers specialist in Accrington, East Lancs near Burnley etc. They also have a garage there specialising obviously in Renaults. Ive never had any work done there but when I went there for some parts they knew exactly what I was after and knew what they were talking about...
I think ive posted about this before. Check the serial codes on the bottom of the ECU. If they are the same as the one on your existing ECU then you will have no problem. If they are different then there will be problems. If your car is running ok though I would assume the ECU is compatible and...
Yes same problem as me. Like I say new matrix is probably required, I reckon it will take about 3 hrs to do. Get the dash out and disconnect all wires then actually get to the matrix to replace it. Not looking forward to it but then am sick of driving with a coat on.
Another thought take the ECU out and check there is no solder on any of the circuitry, as this would most certainly cause a problem if the chip is compatible with the ECU.
I think the chip was either incompatible with the ECU, or the ECU was damaged during soldering. I fitted a new ECU from a breakers yard two weeks ago for £70, so its not loads of money. Take your ECU out so you can quote the number on the bottom when making enquiries. The number to quote starts...
No there does not seem to be a coolant leak, you can normally smell the anti freeze and there is no damp around the passenger footwell. I reckon its got to be the heater matrix at fault, as there was a fair bit of pressure going through it when i flushed it, and the water coming out was nice and...
the hose to the matrix is hot, but the one coming out the bottom is only warm. When I turn the heater on it blows hot for a few seconds, but then gets colder and colder untill it blows little detectable heat. I also tried getting a hosepipe through the hose to the matrix until it flowed out of...
right ive flushed the system right through like you said. Jacked n.s up and blew through header tank untill it started running through the top hose. Steady stream of water coming through but still little heat into the car. Heater matrix gone do you reckon?
Thanks
No ive taken the plastic plug out of the radiator but apparently there is a drain screw to let all the water out. Trapped air in the heater matrix you see. Any ideas whats going to be the best way to cure it?
The only phase 1s with an electric pump or those fiitted with air con due to the air con sytem taking up too much space in the already tight engine bay. All the phase 1 pumps are belt driven, though I might be really wrong.
Where is the water drain plug/screw on the clio phase 1 16v? Ive looked everywhere but cant see the thing anywhere. Ive looked in haynes but has a really vague picture and no description. Please can someone guide me ASAP as my car is currently in bits and I need to flush the system.
Cheers
Dave ive replied to your pm, but having read this post it is obviously a connection problem. There should be a multi plug on your injector. Take this off and peel the rubber protection back to expose the wires. if the connections look sound enough then it is a dodgy bit of wire. Unless you know...
