I think i read also in here that you put your PE2's from the BACK to the FRONT ?
This you should also never do. Does'nt sound like your problem but never switch tyres that have been on the back long enough to the front. My car-mechanic also did this without asking me btw and the car was all...
Knowing Renault they prob gave you the partno.'s for just the pulley on the alternator or somethin in the like.. looking in the computer for ages and still talking bullshit afterwards. these prices can't be right ?
if you're a hippy then you should buy one ;)
It's purely there to "catch" the oil that is sometimes spewed out by the engine and normally gets "recycled" ; sucked through the induction setup to be burned.
Environmental issues/laws prohibit drops of oil to be vented to atmosphere ; the last...
a nice long spirited drive is best; get the exhaust (engine too) nice 'n hot , car likes that.
Burns all moist.
Mind you engines can even RUST on internal components , because of lots of short drives; not getting everything up to good running temps. No good for any car, short rides
it's because of the tube connected to the induction elbow, the oil breather. Because of this you will always have oil-guck in the TB
no worries. just cleaning.
You're lucky , a lot of people want this filterhousing for better performance ;)
When you want a better filter for it ; a ITG (part no. BH-203) is the one you'll need to put in there
Yeah sorry ! i meant the 1 euro. I think Henk has been tasting our national tobacco (being weed) :D ;)
he must be kidding or ??
*** i checked the site, got an email with the news-updates and had a look. He's not kidding ****
wow nice results ! bet that's a lot of fun to drive at 900 and so kg :approve:
Did you also remove all the plastic/seatbelts/doorlining(where speakercompartiment was) etc from the back ?
If so, is the noise still bearable on daily driving ?
Oh yeah, is that a genuine splitter or.... ?
^^ no he did'nt do the aux, this was a very young belt btw. So was the pump !
Belt should have been done eh ? :o
will it, being a 1000mile belt, be allright ?
Great Danny thanks.
Any thoughts on the engine now running more freely ? And the watertemp that seems to rise easier ?
Also noticed my car had a slight slip of the auxbelt on startup with the old pump; now it's gone
My car had a leaky waterpump, so took it to a mate and he had a look at it. He fixed it, putting on a new pump.
Since my car (172 Cup) is imported, the license-reg was registered as a 182 here in Holland, for reasons i do'nt want to get into now.
So what happened is ; My mate ordered a...
Have you checked if the other lower mount (rubber block) is still okay / in place ? Stops the tilting of the engine so may be your prob.
No.2 in this pic :

Pic is of a phase 1, but has the same mount as the ph2
2500 rpm flat spot will prove to be "very difficult" to get rid of.. Different cams, whenever some decent ones will be made for the 197, will be the only answer me thinks.
yes.
replace the whole thing to another type of airintake
Sorry, not much use to you but it sucks ... (too much air ;) )
Do'nt think they do replacements ?
^^ yeah you have to be up to speed on all costs of running these little buggers.
BUT i can understand someone NOT wanting to spend 140 on tools he will prob use ONCE in a lifetime (if he sticks to the car and all goes well)
^^ yeah when i did all my mounts last time round it "cured" it for a while.
Ofcourse a couple of weeks later it all returned :(
Btw, my manifold (182) is one without the dent too
When you said it's only hitting on hard accelaration, you're describing a problem ALL the RS's have !! Why do you want to cure a problem you seemingly can't cure completely ?
Mine sounds like a caliber 50 machine gun (worse) when getting wheelspin, no nice feeling/sound
Do'nt worry about...
When accelerating hard they ALL hit the bar, (always thought it hit the subframe) would'nt worry about it too much ? Design fault , Renault at it's best. Get a Powerflex dogbone mount and it wo'nt be as bad anymore
I have never ran anything else than RON 98.
:o i managed 190 miles on a full tank.. BP 98 RON. It is a very bad mpg ain't it
hurray for cams and mapping :D
