When I first got the VI, I thought - it's going to take ages to get used to this much power, (not taming it, just it feeling new and exciting) then I jumped in it on Sunday and I felt a little underwhelmed. I was thinking, how has it lost that feeling already...

Anything grey import is illegal. It was to protect their precious motor trade from civilians importing their own vehicles. Like we do here in the UK with Jap imports etc.
Unless it's over 25 years old, and has historic merit. Hence, R32 Skyline values have sky rocketed, as they can now legally...
My opinion is more or less the exact opposite. Rubber is designed to give a minute amount of flexibility, but offer good control over the suspension movement. There's a reason road cars don't have rose jointed suspension, it would need rebuilding every 5 minutes, and you'd have no teeth.
