Ahh right I am keen for full coilover until to give me more adjustment on the rear. It will also make it slightly easy should I want to adjust spring rates.
I have been in contact with GAZ and they recommend full coilover for racing so I am decision making at the minute.
The GAZ do GHA kits...
interesting!!
I cannot find BC ones with adjustable height at the back on a Coilover can only find dampers which is what I run at the minute.
If you have a link anywhere I will gladly have a look.
Thanks
Hi
Who runs Gaz Gold's I would appreciate your thoughts on whatt hey are like and if you know what spring rates you are running could you please let me know.
I am racing the clio and need an upgrade to the current suspension however there are alot of different combinations.
Thanks
Josh
I see Robs comment above and he quotes £600 I have done it as cheap as I can and I run in production plus. Probably around an extra £100 on top of your race entry fee but I camp over at the events.
Probably see you in the CNC I have just sent off my registration for next year, I am joining that and tricolore too as the guys were great at my first race last weekend and may get a few other tracks!
Don't need the medical before the day.
As comments above they walk you through the Dvd and give you a few of the answers....are you doing at Oulton with MSVT?
The driving is easy he let me drive 3 laps giving me advice on how to go quicker he then said next time we go over the line he won't...
I have just watched it!! I got bogged down by the civic off the start and got swamped by the MR2's then I took it easy for a few laps then went for it after about 3 laps.
If you get the chance you should do it, sitting on the grid thinking s*** then lights are going out and it's going to be flat out for 8-10 laps....it's totally different to track days!
Car went well just little Tweeks to be done now to make it perfect for the class
Glad someone was there to back up how bad the weather was....mad it all the more interesting for my first race I suppose, still getting used to overtaking wherever there is a gap I left to much room at the starts and didn't want to get into trouble, just being sensible.
It was a mixed grid I was 4th overall....I had a Civic, Bora and a Celica in front of me! Not all the normal races were there though so was a good settling in race.
Race report Cadwell Park 3rd September.
So for people who have been following the thread will understand that the Clio has been transformed into a 'race car' still a lot more to do with the car however this was my first race weekend....very scary!!
So up on Saturday nice and early woke up to...
Chris at EFi Parts would highly recommend he has a website if you wanted to go and look.
So I am still aiming for 200bhp per tonne hopefully car is around 950 (yet to be weighed) let's see how we get on
@GazzaCup i have been on the rolling road today and had the Clio mapped, it made 177bhp after the map (standard engine - Miltek exhaust + V6 air box) 151bhp at the wheels which isn't to bad I am told.
Do you know if the regs are power at the wheels or power at the flywheel?
Yeah he explained how you would really feel it lower down and with increased throttle response it will be much improved.
Increases the Rev range to 7500 and peak bhp is 6700/7000 as you can see by the graph. This will then allow the power to stay and not drop off.
£159 - Very good service I have been debating it for a while too.
Did about 6 runs in today (3 readings in each run)
He doesn't settle for the first run he is very very good.
Like I said above I am running standard engine part form air box and exhaust and managed to get another 7 bhp and a...
Been up at EFI Parts mapping this afternoon.
Car is running a Miltek exhaust system (Cat still in place) with a v6 air box and cold air feed all standard apart from that.
So first run on the rollers saw 171bhp all well and good however according to Chris there were a few flat spots and the...
Cutting it fine but roof scoop fitted yesterday (nightmare of a job) then off to EFI Mapping on Tuesday, will see what the old girl is running it goes well so will be interesting hopefully around 170!! (Wishful thinking)
It's getting a clean today so will get some pictures done.
@David Garthwaite
Hi David
I am going into Tricolore Trophy for the end of this season I can give you an update on that (Production Plus class) which is standard engine but all other mods are free
I have also looked at the possibility of 750 motor club 'hot hatch' it has a much more mix of...
@Adam G i am waiting for Steve V from Tricolore Trophy to send me some he has had them in order for 8 weeks.
He is sending me the required white background numbers but I just wanted these in Windows like a few others and incase they don't come from Steve they are easily removed if they a major...
Update
Got the v6 box fitted tonight hopefully see me well in the prod plus class.
New alternator as the other one decided to give way £100 of Euro parts with 25% off.
Got the new numbers frittered as didn't like the size of the old ones.
