The cars were limited to 155 as part of a gentlemans aggreement years ago as cars were getting quicker and quicker and to do there bit for heath and safety they agrrred to limit to that qhich is ample fast enough.
Its fine so long as they do all the checks and use Renault parts (keep the parts reciepts idealy) and are vat registered and stamp the book .
Its an EU directive.
I woulnd't bother there not worth the paper there written on often.
Renaults own one is the only one I'd bother with your cars got to be under 3 years old to buy it.
Three lines.
On the sensor theres three lines should be marked up as 2,3 and 4
2 is black in colour and goes to the earth on the top of the dashbaord check the connection for a good earth with ohms meter etc.
3 is the red wire its the line which goes to the F28 2amp fuse on the passenger...
Its broken then new senros not that expensive easy to chnage.
Temp gauge should slowly climb over a few minutes to half way then stay there all the time realy regardless of rpm etc.
I'm lost geography wise in the Uk but if your near Portsmouth drop rentech a call (Mike@Rentech on here) a call. Otherwsie if your near exmouth Carlton garage would do you a good price (clarkie V6 on here or somehting like that forum name)
Offical Renault warently covered them till 72k and 5 years but as you said any more than 60k and 4 years and unless you've a warently I'd get it changed.
Look for a cracked cambelt.
Ring the garaeg with the stamp in the books see if they've done the belt if there any risk it hasn't been done get it chnaged as when they go its almost as cost effective to get a new engine.
How much it it leaking?
I'd personaly if I were you take the gearbox off stick a second hand one on strip yours down or get a place to strip and fix it and keep it for spare.
7 hours or so labout also you want new decient gearbox fluid so that £40 or so plus you want a new clitch since...
Not to bad just take you time and remember to pull the old one out with a bit oof string on it whcih you pull the new one back through the bulkhead with.
I bet they used a copy cat part not a proper Renault one.
Gte a proper Renault cable copy cat parts are rubish there not that pricy either proper ones.
220hp is a bit of serious tunning realy.
Ideal throttle bodies and cams.
You can do it on stock throttle body with cams head work etc if you use BenR's new manifold bit.
