Was a good day that one. Ive still got the footage of said M3 pilot coming over and talking to me afterwards...with his mate stood alongside ripping the piss out of him for being passed by a little blue Clio LOL
Easytrack are doing Fri 11 Nov, and Sun 18 Dec at Goodwood this year. Ill...
Um...did you watch the video?
On that day, with me behind the wheel, and BOTH me and the M3 driver giving it the full beans, yes, absolutely, my foam panel filter equipped Cup was quicker than an M3.
And you say PMSL at the effort. I ask again...have you watched it?
And how does my video...
I been after him for 7 laps...and hed been going round me all morning so I was pretty determined.
The cones are ok, but no substitute for having someone who knows the circuit like the back of their hand sat next to you.
Ooops...back on topic...BMW 325 quicker than a Cup? With 120 bhp less...
http://rapidshare.de/files/5067635/Pass_M3.wmv.htmlHere it is then. Me behind the wheel, and Jon-rs Uncle (whos an instructor at Goodwood) talking me round. He gave me around 6 seconds on that session, so I was able to reel the M3 in.
They may have 320bhp, but the covertible weighs about...
Ive got video of my 172 Cup chasing down and going past an M3 convertible around Goodwood (and he was driving 8-9/10 effort too) if anyone can host it...would that help?
Are you getting a dished one Roy?
Ive always thought the rake of the wheel made the top too far away when Im setup for the pedals just right (at 6ft).
Ive been thinking of something with 80mm, should get it nice and close then.

Thanks for the comments...:D
Ill make sure I get a pic up of it with them on as soon as I can.

Anyone...? Theyre destined for track use only, cause Im fed up with not being able to spot myself amongst 10 other blue MK2s in pics from RS trackdays. I thought these would make it a little easier. Now Im not so sure...

Buy the oil over the service counter before you book your car in, then tell them to use what youve bought.
Its much cheaper that way, saves me about £25 every time :D
Ive had the 3rd to 4th or 4th to 3rd problem a few times too.
Having a play around with the gearbox I think its down to 3rd and 4th not being in line with each other...

Thats how my gearbox feels...once out of 4th, its not straight into 3rd, but off at a slight angle...
Ask Nik or Ian (Blink172) about side by side drags...full fat 172 versus 172 Cup.
Time after time, up the airfield strip, I cleanly and comfortably pulled away from them - not talking 10 lengths up the 1/4 - but comfortably all the same.
Nik swore that next time...hed have his car stripped...
