I was the same though...after that red van incident early on during the first stretch, I just couldn't shake that from my mind. I couldn't even stay in touch with Jon/James so I was obviously very seriously affected by it LOL
It'll need to lose all that 130kgs - having seen many times first hand what difference 89kgs makes it'll need all the help it can get.
Come on Mr Townsend...get them French fellas working on a proper drivers car (or should I go and buy a Caterham/Elise :clown: )
Shame...I read the Evo "Driven" on the 1.6, and the only words I could see were "+130kgs", so sad.
I hope Renaultsport are working hard on the carbonfibre bits the 182s' successor is going to need...
Yup ^^^ if there are any doubters out there as to Mikes' credentials, he's had his hands on my Cup many, many times at the dealership he worked at, and it's never been given anything other than first class treatment :D .
In fact, had it not been for him pulling strings to help me out in the...
Stupid question, but you are/is he going through the 5k zone with full throttle?
Mine has loosened up progressively from day one and is now, at almost 48k, a totally different drive...but I always had a very noticeable kick at 5k even from new.

Astra - 15.8s
Fiesta - 15.9s
Trophy - 14.2s
Does that not say...
Neil, I've said it many times before...Yokohama A539's!!! If they're for track only, the usual "they're s**t in the wet" comments do not apply.
Dirt cheap from just about anywhere, and for track outings, ideal for a novice IMO as they are very very progressive on the limit.
Cue all the...
Probably been written up before (?)...
I've just got the latest issue of Autocar, and thay time, in both wet and dry conditions, the Trophy against a Golf GTi, Astra VXR, and Fiesta ST.
In the dry, the difference was only a second or so (in favour of the Clio) over the other three, but in...
Not sure if these should be in here? If a mod thinks otherwise please move it.
Anyway here goes, was a fantastic day, and we had 14 competitors running up to 6 times each through the sprint, with some informal drag-racing to round the day off. The weather was kind to us, and the competition...
I did. Told them it was to save money at service time money only, and did not increase the power of the engine. It was noted on the policy, but at no extra cost.
^^^ with Norwich Union
At the airfield day yesterday, we had a standard Saxo VTS and standard 106 Gti along as well.
Around the sprint circuit (mix of 1st gear hairpins, 2nd gear slaloms, top speed of about 90mph etc...), both the 106 and the Saxo put in times equal to or BETTER than a fair few of the 172/182...
