The amount of oil a 1.2 can burn is upto 1 liter per 600 miles it may burn none but thats the tolerance they dont have to do anything unless it burns more.
Depends how you drive.
The old limits dont apply today modern electronics help.
There are 750hp FWD cars out there which are all fine they cannot use all there power probably in the first 2 gears but they do survive.
The Cup versions are 3mm lower but the only changes are the different coloured wheels different springs and dampers I belive. The others stuff was carried though to all other normal 182 models I belive.
It takes a while for suspension to bed in depends how you drive etc my cars noticably lower...
You cannot unlike other cars adjust the one touch of the cars using programming. There are extra bits you need. Im still trying to work out what at the moment Ill post when I find out the easy way of doing this (ie not just messing up the switch).
I think the spec allow for 1 liter ever 600 miles but Ill check to make sure.
The sensor will misread on a slope its due to the placment of it in the tank.
Just check the oil filter isnt leaking as theres a technical note out about failed ones which would be covered under warenty.
If you have more people in the car yoiu need a bit more pressure.
For high speeds (over 100) you need to lower the pressure though.
So long as your pressures messure up with what the book syas youll be fine
Remember to check the spare tyre pressure as well.
Best search for the proper technique Ben has wrote about before but when you drive it from the garage get it warm and get it up high to the limiter a few times placing loads of load on the engien. It helps to make a good seal between the piston rings and the cylinder so there less blowby so more...
VVT only works when the coolent temp is >80 and the pressure is 850 milibares (so almost full throttle) and the revs are between 1400 and 6k (I think there the limits)
The shove you feel is the cams becomming more efficient nothing to do with VVT. At 4k or so they hit there region of high...
Personally Id keep the DCi its worth about £70 to £7.5k Id guess and a Cups about £9~£10k.
But a Cup will cost you more it depends on the miles you do if you (as you do at the moment ) do 24k/yr then there fair saving for a dci.
Fuel alone is ~£13 per week extra
~£4 a week for the extra...
Personally Id have hammered it (when warm) as it will get the best power it has been discussed quite a bit in the past.
Its best doing an oil change as often as possible and within the first few hundred miles but there is no need. If you realy want do one ASAP as a lot o metal filings etc will...
Somethings wrong there no way any 182 shoudl be geared any differently.
Sounds like one of your dials is faulty.
All 182 will do the same speed at a set RPM in a gear (assuming they have the same tyres fitted)
Its a Cobra I eblive
And yes its a CAT 1 spec alarm.
I dont think its adjustable but it should beep at you when it lokcs I think.
Maybe the speaker isnt connected.
Would there be no advantage to have 100 RON mapping maped up then?
How come the 172/182 owners are told to run on 98+ RON fuel then if to be honest there no real advantage? is it just a thing to make the customer feel like its a high performance car?
I understand what your saying about...
Id look at a 172 personally a jump of 25hp isnt much and insurance might not be as bad as you think.
Focus are cheap insurance wise as claims are low on them.
There may have been an advantage as the injectors are cleaner so flow fuel better also optimax etc have other bits in the fuel which lead to a cleaner burn.
The Vectra engine and all engines so long as there electronic fuel injection (all modern engines are I think) are mapped and designed for...
Mine last set of pads only lasted 19k but I do drive quite hard.
Only costs £20 for a new set of pads and 1hr or so to fit them either side if youve never done it before with a load of tea breaks.
Thats why I got a Clio instead the salesman there used to be in my position for the same company . Shame he didnt do me a better deal but you live an learn.
Well the garage lost the sale and unfortunatly so did Renault though no fault of there own.
There are good Renault dealers and sales...
Do you want me to run the engine in for you give it me for a week and Ill fix it milage for you.
500 miles just normal driving on the short journey home
Optimax wont make any difference to a 1.2 16V as its designed and mapped for lower ron fuel (no idea what spec. 92 Id guess but maybe 95 RON)
You could increase the compression ration of the engine and have it rempped to take advantage of higer ROn fuel but it would be expensive for little gains.
From an engineering viewpoint hammerig it in the first 20 miles (not from cold when its warm) will bed the rings in better so you get less blowbuy on the pistons so more power and economy.
Motorcycle engines are testing to 14k when there built new so if the manurfactures arnt worried about...
Your engine is tunned for a set RON fuel so using higher spec fuel its wasted and possibly you might even loose power.
172/182 are speced for 98 RON fuel using lower stuff means less power using higer spec stuff means no more power and possibly lower power. If your engine is remapped (SMT6...
Its sometimes not better for younger drivers. I was 19 looking at a new Corsa with my dad and got completly ignored even though my dad wasnt buying it and told the bloke this a few times.
Least you did the right thing and cancelled its a shame that Renault and the rest of the industry should...
