Before you mess around with the seat belt pretentionery Id disconnect the battery for a hour before hand you dont want those things going of as they £75 each to replace when they go off.
I though I did a lot, mine only got about 32k and its a Sept 2002 car.
Would be closer to 36 though if it wasnt in the garge in its first year so much so Renault have saved me spending some money.
Its slightly different colour and noisyier (cup has less sound proofing)
Same build quality although as the cups noisier (should be) you might think its worse. They reasonable build quality just rattle in general.
There are pre registed Cups comming onto the market which were held in stock...
Best talk to a Renault specialist BB might be able to help you or GDI but its going to be expensive. A new box is out the question (cost) so youd need a write off.
Would make an interesting Williams though.
braddersbrad the 1.4rt did come with an auto box I think so just find a crashed one...
Thats not the big problem the Williams is a strong engine so may destroy a stock auto box. The manual box isnt amazing and that an uprated one from the 16V using Renault 19 diesel bits.
The williams box is a combi box which is the same shape as the 19 diesel one its also the same shape as the...
Dont get them wound up or get people started on about a 182 Cups.
Basically IMO the Cup is a stripped out more hard core stiffer suspension lowers ligtened with no leather seats zeons or abs. Its supposed to be quicker than a 172 but will depends no to many things.
Id go for a 172 personally...
If you have access to the Renault computers you can do a few more things.
You have the trick to make all dash lights go on and dials move though as well.
You can get realy high number like 99.9 but you need to leave it a few miles to settle most likely you were only doing about 60mpg.
The bigger rims assuming there work out to be a larger mean that at high speed your doing less revs which is more economical.
It takes some time befoe the...
The easyist way to change the bulbs is to just get somone with small hands to do it. Then on the passsengers side remove the battery will halp as space is more at a premium on that side.
Removing the bumper is the only way to get the whole light out its not a huge job (compaired to some jobs)...
There part number 8200085591 and priced at £86.18 inc VAT at Renault.
Getting a spare is difficult and some scrappies want the same sort of money as a new one, if you have a look back in the forum there were some details for some Renault places which might be able to get one cheaper for you.
Offical disks (price is for 2) £71.43 ex vat from Renault part number
77 01 206 339 DISCS (PAIR)
Pads are £20 at Halfords.
The pads and disks are the same as fitted to the Williams and 1.8 16V s
11k seems a bit quick but then again depends how you drive. My pads lasted 19k but then again I drove a long way to work at reasonably slow speeds so they werent getting worn, this present set isnt likely to last as long.
If youve not changed the pads early and the pads been scrapping agaist...
For the best gaans Id recomend going for an SMT its more expensive but is made to your requirments and your cars engine rather than an of the shelf remap from superchip. (~£500)
Superchip dont do as far as I know any 182 remap but if your ring them they will make one for your they might even...
The serv light has nothing to do with offical servicing it indicates the car has a problem the serv light comes on when the airbag wires under the seat fail.
The serv light wont come on to tell you the car needs servicing.
The telegraph motoring writer recons there very good he has had a few people he knows buy cars of them and they were good.
His website is www.honestjohn.co.uk
I dont understand why they dont question this but who cares imports (so long as there not form Cyprus) have the full 3 yr warently. All you have to do is send a leter of to them.
The only think imports dont have is etched glass (no biggie) and no alarm but thereonly £300 or so for one as good...
First remove the two bolts underneath the car at the front.
Then the three Clips and two bolts around the inside of the innder wing protecter (ie arch).
Then theres another bolt under ther to remove.
Then the 4 clips holding the bumper to the arch (to get to them push the bumper downwards)...
Owch I knew they would be bad but thats a shocking.
What series is it racing in? Are the figures reasonably accurate for power?
Bit of a shame its not doing well they have loads going for them.
The owner might not even know the extent of the mods after all they might not care so long as it makes enough power to win races.
To go from 255 to 300 costs very little new ECU (remapped), exhaust, cams and cam springs. That should cost you about £2k maybe then stick head work, better...
The 172 is a DIN or somehting so in UK HP it works out to be about 166.6hp but Renault call it 172 as it sounds better.
RR measure the power at the wheels then the operators add however much extra they recon the gearbox and tyres are taking away.
This operator added power can mean people...
I think motropoint sell 182s for that sort of price.
Youll probably find they bought a load from dealers of a certain spec ie none cup etc and found there not selling well so there up for cheap.
There normal Uk spec cars though so will have alarms.
Ive not read anything anyone posted but whatever you do dont ever ever have low grip tyres at the back you need the best tyres at the back .
It cost me about a grand to learn this DONT make my mistake.
A magazine a while back did a test and proved that the best performer next to having new...
