I've looked into it and fitting a 225 engine/box is not a lot of work tbh, but the problem I have is trying to find one, ideally a whole car but there still a bit pricey and if they are cheap they have a million miles on them, unless anyone knows best place to look?
if i run the 172 engine then im only looking to go with the low boost set up, as medium boost seems to be unreliable, but im also thinking low boost will not be enough, so also looking into the 225 route, then it would only need a map to take it to 260 or so and should be a lot more reliable...
it is a lot of work to be done, but then as has already been said why say a time frame if your going to be nowhere near it, and if things do go wrong as im sure they do, then you need to let people know about it sooner rather than later, but on the other hand where else is there to go for a...
Hi,
Once I finally get round to modifying the cup, one thing im looking to do is relocate the battery behind the passengers seat to free up some space under the bonnet for future modifications, i will be using the car on the road as well as the track so looking to go with the smallest standard...
looks to go really well with enough power, going over your thread it seems not to difficult to fit the 225 eng/box, is it a case of some home made engine mounts, custom exhaust, move brake lines, get shafts built?
only thing is the wiring loom, was it a nightmare to do, iafter watching your...
im old so dont really go to meets or such anymore, wife hates cars, especially my clio ha, but i would easily pop along one night if there was a few folk going and obviously if im home, im away with work from the 11th to the 22nd
i don't go to fast in the wet as the roads up here can easily catch you out, i would prefer better dry grip on the road, so would i be best with the PS3's? im thinking on 205/45/16
rentec are a little bit more expensive, i was £720 if i remember correctly for timing belt, aux belt, dephaser, water pump and a thermostat on a 172cup, was gonna use swr tbh but couldn't fit me in with work, took them the whole day to complete.
They also done a thorough examination of the...
been done twice already, everything is fine so they say, i took it to another garage after being done and mentioned it was pulling to the left, i never told him the alignement was done by another garage, he set it all up then came over and said it bang on, doesn't need adjusted, i'll check it...
Hi,
Thought i would put this on here to see if anyone has either had this problem or could help diagnose what could be wrong, the problem is with my 2010 bmw 320d, basically it keeps pulling to the left, its only on 40k, fsh, tyre pressures are all ok, no buckled wheels, tyre wear is...
where did you get the alternator, think i might need one soon, get a little whine in the morning for around 40 seconds or so, its either that or the power steering pump
i have got loads of new parts to be fitted, seats, harnesses, cage, brakes, coilovers, bushes, engine mounts and a whole load more, but may be on hold due to more redundancy's at work, bloody oil industry ha
i bet you've had some fun with this car george, makes me think if its worth boosting my cup after all the problems i read on the forum, i was only going to go with the low boost set up though, will have to have a rethink maybe, i waould supercharge it but cant see anyone that does it
It's £109 to have both front callipers refurbished by bigg red, either electroplated in silver or gold, usually a 3 day turnaround, that would be the option I'd pick, the callipers from ECP etc don't include new slider pins etc
just read the whole thread, very nice car with good modifications, must be a right pain with all the failures though, lets hope you can get to finally use it in anger and have some fun, can i ask where you got the bolts coated from? im looking to do the same thing with getting everything...
best not looking at the receipts, just bin them haha, cars coming along nicely though, really like the silver ones, is there a build thread for R14 cup ?
Evening,
I will be replacing every part of my suspension/brakes later this year, but was wondering what is the best way to protect everything from future corrosion, i know its going to happen as time goes on but thought im best to try and protect what i can prior to fitting all the new parts. I...
good read so far bud, i need new bolts all round also as cant be done with sticking old ones back in, but is it a case of going to the renault dealer for them? my local parts guy is a really old man in he takes forever to look up anything, if i asked for bolts he'd likely stand up in walk away haha
My one is exactly the same as you describe, you'd think it was cammed, I changed the plugs and it was a lot better, but after 1000mls it's back the same, it gets a bit bogged down when pulling off also but has bags of power, I've had all belts/dephaser done by a specialist, I also asked if it...
