Id say keep the Williams it sound perfect car no rpobelms. I get the idea that 172 ist quite a Williams you dont want to take a backwards step with no MPG gains etc do you?
Yellow all the way
Looks better and green cars are unlucky.
My parents have had 2 green cars the first was a Volvo which the handbrake failed and went though the garage door.
The second is there new Forester which even though is only 7 months old has a had a huge stone chip in the...
Ive got a copy of the dialogues (has the prices etc) if you want any parts and prices but wont have any 182 stuff in 172 is all covered though as its a years old version I think.
Quite a few bits will be comming out depends how much you wnt to spend or what you want.
The changes to the engine are bigger throttle body different exhaust and intake (I think) manifold different injectors and a few other bits not much.
A turboed Lupo I think Ive seen the kit some where...
Renault tell you to be gently for a few reasons
1) If something breaks it will in the first few K (somthing like 80% of work is needed under 2k miles) so best have it break and do as little damage as possible.
2) Most people will be trading up so there worried about being sued from people...
Im one of the reope who says cane it engines are designed to be hammered there whole life (called the boy racer test) from cold etc now sure youll never drive it as bad as that ie red line from cold but shows the design and testing of the engine.
The engine needs to be hammered (well get up...

You need the super stuff to get most power from the engine the ECU was programed for 97+ fuel so not using it means less power as the timming is retared to stop knocking (although you probably cannot tell).
As for warently any mods and affected equipement warently can be invalid only if they can prove the mod is to blame so unless thay can prove that different springs accounted for a suspension failure they cannot refuse any warently work on anything.
Just dont take it to hester the only reason I ever went there is because they have a 182 which they let me test drive as no other dealership even was happy to give me a brocour.
There excellent at sales apparently and have a high staff turn over. But as for warently work well SPee six is all...
Yep more torque than a 182 in the DCIs.
Take a test drive in one and drive it as you would normally and youll notice how much faster it is reving the nuts of them doesnt work.
Dont go to Reanult Chester is your first problem
Try speed six in Wrexham there much better for warently work even if you didnt buy the car from there. Ive heard and known to much about them to take my car there.
Where about are you from?
If you dont mind us asking what other cars do you define as communicative. The 182 I drve with cups stuff seemed to eb the same as what you are on abot the stearing ligher than the dynamic at higher speed but no communication. Ok so I only managed to go round one round about but my old escort...
Ive got a Dci 65 very good engine economical and even my parents notice how quiet at 80 on the motorway it is even fully loaded which is good as they owned a E class merc not so long ago.
I would say personally the only Clios to buy are the 172/182 or the DCi the lower spec petrols arnt...
The 182/172 need 98 Ron to operate accoring to the maps designed for max power.
The mapping was done on 98 fuel so using cheaper stuff emans the engine knocks and the ecu changes the timing loosing you power.
Whats your email addres I need it to send the PDF file to. Pm it me if you dont want to risk getting any spam
Smokey is someone who sells them on here have a search for him he sells the cds for £7.50 I think
Good luck with the project what sort of power are you aiming for?
Get the software on the ECU updated it is a common problem down to the design poor idle maybe the mods are just meaning you hear it more.
Might be worth getting the plugs changed as well.
I think the side skirts are the same as the 172 has had for yrs.
If so its

The 182 and 172 do need premium fuel the ECU is desinged to advance the spark timing to take advanatage of it. By running none premium the engine start to knock so the power is retarded you wont notice it but there is an advantage if I get a 172/182 the aditional stuckk they stick in is better...
Sounds a good deal that to me assuming its not an import.
£6.2 k is above what your cars probably worth just but £9.4k is about right for a 172 like that.
Yep. All speeedos have to be accurate to withi +0% and -10% so they will never over read.
Say 5mm wear on a tyres for a normal dynamic. I think works out to be about 1.5% chnge ie 100mph is achually 98.5mph
