An ex forum member called CB1A (dont ask why he is an ex member).
The transplanted in ito a Mk2 1 Clio from a crashed cup. There another forum member who mates with him who posted some pics etc about the car.
Wires touching can very often be the reasing for shorting.
Shame Renault didnt spot it.
Id tape up all potentail wiring like that There always room for them to touch and short otherwise.
Those fuses in the box are for thengine relays I think so they all important.
Not worth it unless you can find a crashed 172 bits for cheap.
The drums are fine you dont need much power at the back anyway.
Theres a 1.2 Clio with 172 transplant and front brakes but the rears are still drum and he has had no problems.
I know what you mena but often they hae uprated brakes and suspension anyway. Anyway what sounds better 200hp or a racing suspension setup in the bragging rights . (Well Im talking about others view mine the suspension all the way)
They should be bedded in my getting the pads warm and slowing down from ~60 to 5mph (dont stop ) a few time. Stopping at lights lets the hot pads melt to the disks giving the impresion when they have cooled of being warped.
:( How much does that Value my dci at. Itake it thats the 1.2 16V one with alloys etc?
Excellent value though well done :)
Does that include free insurance though as well?
77 01 206 379 BRAKE PADS M£40.24 ex vat from Renault
But you can get cheaper ones from other companies I think Halfords do them for ~£30. I got my dci ones from there for £20.
The Front brakes are from the Laguna I think so should be cheap though mass production methods
Its because the cars French and so the locks on the drivers side for them.
This removal of the lock has only reciently arrived I think the Cups were the first to get it.
Yep you could but as said before cost isnt worth it.
A 1.8 16V can be dropped in for ~£1.5k for 137hp since 100hp would costs more than this on your 1.2 a transplant is the best idea. Even including potential insurance problems.
They can be added aftermarket I belive as mine was but in at the dealerships. I wouldnt woroy about other companies installers just find a good one (there are a lot) and you will be better off.
As to time limits well I dont think there is any Ive left my car unlocked before and its stated no...
Ok the 100dci and the 80dci are different engines same basic bits but 100 has uprated and stronger parts. You could swap all the bits but there would be a big bill.
An induction kit or whatever wont make much more powerabout 2 I would guess.
The 100dci turbo is better as it runs higer...
There designed to do that all 16v Renault engines.
They shouldnt get picky about the exhaust unless they say its noistyer so you will hear it more.
New ECU software helps with all 1.2 engines.
Ive got the alarm on mine I like it as its a manurfacturers one but unless you realy want to protect the car or need it for insuracne its not worth it.
Ive posed the number and address before

Its a imagination rather than anything else about German build quality.
I based the idea on my own experiances with the Germans and French at work.
BTW Im of to look at a 172 this afternoon however many problems French cars have I still like them. But at this rate Ill never make it there.
From what Ive seen about the French build quality your better of buying a German car.
But then again the Germans are allowed to drink at work (well they can at our place) infact they have vending machine stocked full.
This is true for some companies other have restirction ie liverpool victoria dont let you some only let you over 21 etc.
However the car can only be driven 3rd party if someone else is insured on it ie you could drive my car (if I let you) as its insured by me as well, but you can only drive...
Frizell are the same as Liverpool VIctoria and dont charge for any mods (well possibly asmall pemium for the cost of sendng new paperwork).
So long as you dont change the cc of the ccr and they know of all mods there fine.
The compressor takes its power from the engine via a clutch sound like its disengaging and re-engaging as it should due as under certain conditions it has to ie on start up full throttl eetc.
If its very noticable it might need adjusting or fixing etc but if its only slightly noisy Id leave it...
Keep the car until you get a new job you dont need any more hastle with insurance and a different car and finding and getting a new job at the same time.
Dependant upon what job you get your car decision choice may change
