The airbag doesnt always activate as it can be more harm than good in some cases. The computer sometimes decides its not important enough to activate it.

Lowering as far as possible and have the springs made as solid as manurfacturing possible (should be able to make springgs so solid they wont move any noticiable amount. Also super low profile tyres But if you push it to far you will get other problems

As far as I remember it definatly unlocked the doors in an accident. Not sure what its based on but I think the failure sitaution ie no power battery fail then it unlocks. If the airbags are set of it will also unlock the doors (Im quite sure it did on mine)

Arr right I thought the cable on the cd changer was removable. Sounds like your going to have a bit of a problem. Unless when you remove that metal cover on the cd changer and find that a plug like the one Ive drawn your probably going to need a new cd changer unless you want to get busy...
