yep, heres a tip... look privately cos most garages charge £7k+. Should be able to find somethin below 7k if ya look hard. (oh, and when u do find a MINT one below 7k please let me know so i can buy it ;))

i think its the wrong car to start with. Maybe get somethin like a 1.4 16v. Theyre still very nippy and are much more appropriate for a new driver. [Edited by fUbAr cos he cant spell :oops: on 08 June 2004 at 12:15am]

ive seen this.... 2001 (51reg) Mk2 172. Only 8 thousand miles, MINT (and i mean MINT) condition. how much should i offer/expect to pay at a private garage?

I dont know how many people have seen one in the flesh, but theyre fooking gorgeous! Seen one at my local dealer today and it stopped me in my tracks... if i was gettin a 182 i would DEFINATELY pay the extra £1200 for the yellow!

it only comes with the dealers 6 month sh*tty warranty but he says that "if it goes wrong well fix it, nomatter what" I aint agreed nothin cos i though it would ask you lot first! how much should i be paying for one like this then chaps?

Just been to look a Mk2 172. Its a 2001 flame red, 1 lady owner (swapped it for a 206cc). The good thing is that its only done 8000 miles in 3 years and its in MINT condition. The guy wants £9995 for it. Good deal? Oh, and hes gonna give me £4250 for my car [Edited by fUbAr on 04 June 2004...
