Right, the manager just phoned me and said that there is 3 mounts... upper, lower and a "wishbone" mount. They fitted me a new wishbone mount 4 days ago but the worn part they took out had caused damage to the other mouts. so therefore i need all 3 mounts replaced which apparently is gonna...
yeah good thought but i already spent £50 on an engine mount last week so i aint gonna buy another one!! Apparently the service manager is "in a meeting"... funny that!!
A trip to olympian again tomorrow i think, and this time i wont be wearing a smile!
ive really had enough now... im gonna phone the service manager and tell him that i want it sorted cos its under warranty and i also want a refund on the engine mount that didnt help in the slightest.
and yeah paddy, i should have bought a honda!
Once the engine has been broken in everything should loosen up nicely. Make sure u vary the revs tho to get the best performance later on.
The steering problem is cos of the tyres mainly... theyre much wider than ur old ones in the 1.2 RN so they will tramline when ur going slow so no problems...
How do i go about checking my engine mounts for damage/play? Also what exactly am i looking for... i dont even know where they are!
I need to do this cos Reno are talking crap telling me my tyres are causing extra stress on the mounts and they "replaced" one but the knocking noise hasnt gone...
yeah i agree that it would put more strain on the engine but the mount was only fitted last thursday and they said it that which is making the noise due to stress caused by the tyres, BUT ITS ONLY A 4 DAY OLD MOUNT!!!!
*edit*
i need a way to prove its not the tyres as after only 4 days they...
it doesnt make me laugh... it makes me wanna go trash the place!! ive paid them for something that has done bugger all to fix my car and they basically told me to go away cos theres nothin they can do. AND i still have 5 months used car warranty with them!! :@
my original tyres were 165s so not that much different! i dont know where i stand really, ive paid them £50 for a new engine mount which hasnt done bugger all!... and i still havent got my car fixed!
so you all reckon theyre talking crap too then?
Just been to the beach and on the way back i was driving along and signalled to turn right. Nothing was coming so i turned only to hear a bang and the car jolt sideways. Some c*nt in an old Hyundai saloon thingy pulled out the junction and hit the back of my car, and i had right of way!!! to...
been back to reno today cos the new engine mount they fitted didnt cure my knocking noise. Their verdict was to blame it on my "wider rubber". Ive got 195/45/R16 TOYO PROXES fitted and they blamed them for putting too much strain on the engine and there was nothin they could do about it...
i got in my car earlier today and the bloody thing wouldnt start... it was turning over but the immobiliser (sp) light was flashing really quickly. I took key out, put it back in and it did it again!!? third time was lucky and the thing started like normal.... any ideas folk?
Ta.
erm... i think the same braking principle works on Mountain Bikes too.... ive got a 205mm hydraulic disk up front on my bike and my mate has a 165mm disk on his and i can stop loads quicker than he can. Same should apply to cars i guess!
Hi all,
still having trouble with something. When i push the clutch there is a "knock" noise and when i release the clutch and re-engage the engine it does it again. Reno said it was my engine mount so i payed em £50 for a new one but it hasnt done bugger all!
Anyone got any ideas, im...
so to answer my original quiestion, the radar detector isnt used any more really which is why it doesnt come with it. Only really need the laser detector?
Can someone help... been looking at buyin one of these but ive seen that it says it comes with the laser detector as standard but the radar detector is an optional extra.
I thought most portable cameras and guns used radar so surely this is no good as it wont pick em up?
see here...
Anyone used these K-Tec springs? was thinking bout the -35mm ones for my 1.4 16v. Are they much stiffer than the standard ones and how do they perform?

Ta, Dan.
when i press/release the clutch theres a knocking noise coming from somewhere. Got the engine mount done today so it aint that... any ideas? It only seems to happen in the lower gears (1, 2, and 3).
