    Just as I thought, it's bent because of the rust. Either do what you've just said or replace the manifold with a non rusty one. Is it a 172 mate?

    Do not try and take the cam cover off, it holds the cams in place and you won't be able to remove the cover without taking the Cam belt off and the pulleys.

    Yes mate. The flanges are mild steel that's why they rust, I've never seen a rusty 172 or 182 manifold.

    This is a V band mate, one half welds to the manifold the other to the cat.
