Ok, if it gets worse and I run out of coolant before Monday i'll bung some water in it.
I just hope I can sort the leak out on Monday, otherwise they might not let me run the car at the rr day
it's it's pissing fluids everywhere.
It's not a massive leak, i've only seen a small puddle under the rad twice in the last week.
If all else fails can I pour water in the header tank to make what coolant I have go further until Monday?
You make it sound so easy. lol
I'm working all weekend but i'm off Monday so i'll have a go a sorting it then, i've got a 5litre bottle of coolant in the car
as i've been topping it up more and more over the last week, as the header tank always seems to be below minimum.
I'll go to Renault and...
Sh*t this is getting too complicated for someone with sod all mechanical knowledge like me.
I take it I have to bleed the system so that when I fill it back up with coolant there's no air in it,
also what do I need to do with that top bolt, take it off or just loosen it
and how do I know when...
I'm in Coventry lads, about a mile or two from the M6/M69,
and about a mile or two away from the M6 Ricoh Arena.
As far as I can tell it's only leaking from a rubber pipe, it might just need any split at the bottom cutting off then refitting.
I've never taken the bumper off, but i've read...
Don't worry I learnt from my mistakes. lol
All of my badges and bullets are sprayed and lacquered to a standard i'm more than happy with,
I knew it would be a learning curve as I had no clue what I was doing before I started,
but the only way to learn is by doing and i'd be a lot more confident...
Ah ok cheers dude. :approve:
Only thing is I have no experiance of dealing with stuff like this, I know it's as theoretically 'simple' as
removing the bumper, taking the hose off, catching all the coolant, cutting the hose, then refitting,
but i'm sh*t at anything other than studio...
This started a few days ago when we had the baking hot weather, not sure if that's relevant or not.
It's not easy to take a photo of it but hopefully it shows where it's leaking from,
it's the hose on the left of the rad, it'll be a bumper off job but I just though i'd get a few peoples...
It's quite hard to get a decent photo of it, I had trouble getting it in focus,
but hopefully some of you may know which hose it is.
I don't think it's ever had a clip on it, or even if it's meant to,
bottom left of the rad.
The thing is I have no clue how to take the bumper off, or how I would go about sorting the leak out,
I have zero mechanical knowledge and I can't run the risk of going at it blind and f*cking it all up through lack of knowledge.
I'm going to have to get it booked in at a garage and spend more...
I've found the coolant leak but I can't get a decent photo of it,
if you're looking at the front of the car, the hose on the left of the radiator that connects vertically at the bottom is weeping fluid.
I've tried to look for a photo of the front of a 1*2 with it's bumper off, but I can't find...
So many people are having this problem at the moment, including me.
I'm almost convinced it's the starter motor, but reading your posts has worried me now,
mine only has the relay clicking in the morning or after it's been left to sit for a few hours.
I'll keep an eye on this thread in the...
The first thing i'd do is spend £20quid down your local tyre place for a wheel alignment,
it may just be that simple mate.
It's only £20quid and it will either eliminate the problem, or rule it out so you can look elsewhere.
Yes, the boot lock just pushes and pulls a metal rod,
so if you climb into the back you can push or pull it yourself. (can't remember which one opens)
If you have a spare day or afternoon, you can get all the spraying and lacquering done and refit it same day,
you just have to be very careful...
Danny at 519 repaired an engine where the dephaser had shredded itself,
the last time I was there he told me he'd never seen one fail quite like that.
The pics are on here somewhere.
If they were inside that thing, I can't believe anyone survived long enough to be taken to Hospital,
judging by the state of it you'd think the only way of getting a body out of that is with a sponge. :S
I was in heavy traffic on the A46 today coming home from work,
getting all worked up and frustrated when I realised at any moment
I could easily have a crash and be seriously injured or worse,
it made me calm down and increase the distance from the car in front.
It's scary how quickly things...
