Used Gtechniq G1 for a couple of weeks now, here's my thoughts.
Good Points:
Driving along at 80mph, in very heavy rain (to the extent that with an untreated screen I'd have been reduced to 40mph) without having to use my wipers is f**king unreal. Literally no need to use wipers on the motorway...
Hence why it's 20mph slower despite being 100bhp more powerful and probably a fair bit lighter ;)
High speed stability would be the main problem I reckon.
Almost. I need a way of turning the reverse lights on as worklights, at the moment I just put the car in reverse with the engine off, but it's not an ideal solution. Obviously to be legal the lights can't be switched on while the car is moving (or at least forwards at any rate), so wiring them...
Checked everything was OK ready for the drive up to the NEC tomorrow. Filled up the washer bottle and then tipped the rest of the water over the windscreen. Damn I love Gtechniq G1 lol.
Well, a couple of months ago I splashed out on a new laptop, and recently I redownloaded LFS after quite a while away. I lost a lot of the skins etc I'd made, but I've managed to get hooked again lol.
Even though the development is pretty much dead, plenty of people still play LFS, so I was...
I find this to be a more accurate chart tbh.
As you can see, 6000k is just about right.
You'll need HB3 fitment for a Ph.1, you'll need dual optic headlamps to use HIDs. (Poverty spec headlamps are H4 fitment but you'll blind everyone if you try to put HIDs in them.)
It has good days and bad days but I don't think the alternator's going to explode or anything and it provides plenty of charge so unless it gets worse I'm just going to keep running it for another month or two.
Put simply, if it survives the trip to birmingham on thursday it'll survive the trip...
