my clio (65hp) can get upto 72mpg with me behind the wheel but as i have a heavy right foot the rest of the time i get about 50mpg. i cannot imagine u will feel the diesel clio being much faster, it may feel more so due to the low down torque. But the only fast non modified diesels i know of...

i have always used 1/8 cricket bat oil (think its called linseed oil) 7/8 turpentine spirits rub it on any affected areas and allow to try for a while, sometime need to use more than one coat to get it back to how it originally was this is aparently used in the trade

yepe u need to inform the dvla about the engine change for another type / size. if ur transplanting an identical engine then i dont belive it applies

Hit the limiter and fast as possible without droping the revs too low release the clutch. dont know how long a clutch would survive for though. should only be done in coutesy cars IMHO
