Its about half to one MPG increase but Im not 100% sure of its accuracy they may infact do nothing but Im of the opinion that it does.
The trick is similar to the ebay boxes you see for sale every now and agian claiming more hp for almot nothing as they put a resister in the sensor loacation...
The 11k one doesnt have the 3 year warently as its a none eu import and since its been tstandng there for a while its probably got even less warently on it.

Ok here goes Im not 100% sure of the power improvment but I think there is some and some MPG improvment (about .5/1mpg according to my calculations) but the theory behind it sounds good to me.
Ok so take of the cover on the DCI engine (you mave have to pull it very hard) it comes straight off...
Sorry intake manifold costs £276+ VAT from Renault UK although some people have said its £175. Also it will cost to have it fitted.
The old code for the part is 7700 108 193
The part code for the group N manual used in the Cup racers is 7711150216 the above manual number I belive relates to...
There is a new throttle body as well.
Not worth doing the Renault mods though 182 hp can be reached for less IMO.
The parts and order numbers for Renault sport parts can be got from the cup racing teams and maybe Renault UK dealers. The parts are listed below. Some of them are not 182 parts...
How come the clutch would only slip at high revs surely it would be slipping in all gear the lower ones more so.
You could always try the way VAG diesel oners use for chipped cars of running the car in 5th gear (in a 172 it would have to be done in a lower gear). Then whilst crusing at high...
Try Liverpool Victoria or Frizell they are one of the same company, unlimited mods as long as there told of what you do I belive. But check this.
They wont let you change the CC of the car though
Tesco wanted about £20 more for me and they wont do mods for free.
Best to look back over the...
Drop your car of at the dealers and tell them to return the car to the original spec as you can insure it or get them to write a letter and fax it whilst your there to the insurance company and ring up the insurance company there and then and check its acceptable.
If you dont get anywhere or...
I cannot see the ECU giving you much less MPG its all down to how hard you drive it. The ECU wont give you much power top end. Its midange that the extra power ir released but if you drive it witht he same amount of accelerationt he mpg will be slightly better.
There was an owner on here who...
Dont do at unless you drive like my parents all the time. The Clio has little weight over the rear so when you coner the grip levless are lower on the rear meaning that if you put low grip tyres on the back (ie worn) then the rear will loose grip before the front ones making the car overstear...
£630 sounds about right I pay £880 for myself with 1yrs NCB and 1 crash last yr to my name and I live in a good location. Im 21 BTW. Try without your bf of the insuracne quotes as he maybe increasing the price.
The Williams will be cheaper to insure as its a cheaper car plus Im guessing that...
Citreon Xsara VTS
Alfa coupe (it wasnt built by Alfa employess so should be better build quality wise and they have a 2 liter turbo in some of them whcih has some HP)
Nissan 200 sx or 300
Saabs they do some good 2 liter high pressure tubo versions
Calibra 4*4 turbo should be good for...
Cost about £1k with you suppling the engine with no engine work
It sounds quite easy as the parts drop in ie no majour mods but then again brain surgery is easy for a brain surgeon.

1.6 has 110hp
172 has 166.6hp so theres a noticable performance difference.
I would say if you have the money get the 172 more kit and price shouldnt be that much more and the insurance group is 16 so only 6 groups higher than the 1.6.
I had 1.4 16V courtesy a while back and although it...
My tyres were down to the minimum after bout 14k and I drive the lowest power diesel.
Tyre life is related to how hard you drive it nothing you can do about it.
Stickier compound tyres will give you better grip but will wear fater its a trade off.

Well the scratch on the Escort was down to almost the metal after the garage door fell on the bonnet and it came out reasonable although i didnt put to much effort into it as the car was going a week later for the Clio.
On the Clio I went into a load of brambles and thorns on the side of a...
I have heard that K&N filters are oiled and this gets pulled down to the mass airflow sensor and ruins it. Well it gives false readings which menas less power

I have heard that the 6 speed box wont fit the Clio bay (well not easily).
This maybe why they havnt made a powerful diesel Clio yet as the boxes which are strong enough for the torque, and have 6 speeds (which modern performance diesel owners demand) wont fit.

Since it seems like you may have to pay quite a bit for a respray you might as well try this idea I have used it on the scratchs on my car and its quite cheap
Buy some touch up paint from Renault and then go to modeling shop and buy there finest paint brushes (within reason u dont need...
Its a major service but should be about £200~250 its not masive ie cam belt change.
The only extra things ontop of the normal 18k service are spark plugs and airfilter.
And since the normal 18K service is £99 at my local any more than £200 is excessive but this is Renault.

£1200 for a back sports exhaust (about £150 I guess) head work (BenR said something like £500 I think) and an Induction kit (£65 I belive).
So thats a total of £715 for which they charge £1200.
Also exhaust head work and Induction kit would only be ~25hp I guess as the 172 has already has a...
Chipping with give a few hp but very often so few that its not noticable a 172 seem to get about 8hp with a chip so a 75hp engine would get about 3hp they do however give you slight better power delivery.
Try this page for details on a chip which give a few extar hp...
I found a place which sells ecu mods for Clios here http://www.power-system.nl/anglais/cadredeb.htmhttp://www.power-system.nl/anglais/cadredeb.htm there £250 or so and claim to give quite a few hp.
CLIO II 1.2 16V

CLIO II 1.4

Ive hear some bad things about superchips after sales help. But then again there a huge company so expect more complaints.
I would guess them to be better than the rest just that as they do more work there will be more people upset although the percentage of annoyed customers will be low.
