They've done so many recoveries on this year's policy that they're trying to get you to renew with the AA instead, or they're absolutely f**king inept it's definitely one of those two.

They claim tacho exemption so only allowed to work within 50km of their base, so could basically move it 100km max if they collected 50km south and travelled 50km north of base Edit: it's 100km of base, not done that stuff for a few years and my memory is getting rid of all the useless info

172 Cup. Investment? Where are prices going?

Standard parts are getting more expensive too, I've just paid £100 for a used plastic lower timing belt cover, air boxes seem to have tripled in value too.

Clio 172 cup Mot failures on rear brakes and load compensator arm missing.

As a lot of longer serving members will remember back in the day there was an issue with Mot testers incorrectly failing 172 cup models on the load compensator linkage/rod missing, and also little or no effort on the rear brakes the issue was covered in Vosa's matter of testing magazine in April...

    Belts and service before selling?

If I was looking, I'd want it without the belts done as I'd do them myself, but I'm probably in the minority of buyers. Out of interest what's the going rate for belts, dephaser, water pump, aux belt now ?

Diagnostics not reading and battery drain

I would try another alternator as it sounds like a bad diode, If you want a bit of self diagnosis remove the cables from the back of the alt and see if cures the parasitic drain.

Arcan alloy jack from costco @£70 were awesome but don't seem to be available anymore, So I'd go with the Halfords advanced, the alloy are obviously lighter but the steel ones look like an old weber jack design which are top quality if they are.
