hhmmmm, thanks for the input, I unplugged the sub last night and had a listen so the front comps werent amped - sounded good on som songs - pop type stuff, but noticed the diff. on some rnb type stuff. so if the comps were amped what sort of diff would it be to them running off the deck. oh...

hmmm, once had jbl 6x9s ages ago, were great but had really poor sound up front so got that "music from the back" feeling......need to kinda convince myself to take the box out, need space etc. but dont want crappy sound.

theyre either philips or blaupunkt...replace the door speakers and tweeters together with some proper component speakers that have a crossover.

I have a 2 channel Lightning Audio amp under passanger seat (mk2 ph1) no fan no problems, plenty of space above it to the seat (remember to take out the plastic tray)

for a clio 2000 and newer, you need connects2 DRNS003 - this will give stalk and display for SONY only. They do make just stalk adapters for other brands, I think Kenwood and Pioneer...... www.connects2.com

from what Ive heard the alpine adapters only say alpine on the display and can only skip cd tracks in one direction only from the stalk control. must admit the HU is a great improvement, tweeters have "come alive" and radio reception seems to be clearer (?)
