Right, I have left it on all day and not touched it, let it do it's thing and now it all seems back to normal. It must have just had a MASS of updates to do which was causing the disk drive to go mental. Either way, I think I'm going to drop an ssd into it to save having to go through this ever...

Start-up is taking a long time aswell, it used to be instant.

Just completed the laptop reset and disk drive is still running at 90-100%. Have done a diskcheck and it says the drive is all ok. What a ballache.

Was brand new so was already there to install. I believe it is just stored on a seperate drive?

I see. Win10 came installed on this laptop, not as a disc. Does that mean I would need to buy windows again?

Or not. Lol. Disk usage back to 100% when the laptop is running absolutely nothing. I give up.

Sweet. Just a few little updates it's doing now and I think we're finally there.

All updates installed, defragged, malwarebytes done it's thing, turned off superfetch. Disc is now back down to normal and laptop is running a lot smoother. Thanks for all your help, it has been long lol. Are there any programs that you would say are a mist to have to keep everything running...

99%. God knows what it is trying to do lol. Has taken since 1pm to do this one. Can't wait to reboot to see if anything has worked lol.

Scrap that last post, just saw you can still run a manual scan after the trial. It god rid of 24 threats just now.

I've just got malwarebytes but I says it is a premium trial. Is there not a full free version available?

Nice one mate. Currently preparing to install updates and is at 40% so will see what happens. Reboot and check to see what disabling superfetch has done. If nothing, I will defrag and try updates again.

Right, that was enabled so have stopped it and disabled. Will just let this update finish as it's on 94% and will reboot and report back. Appreciate the help so far guys, thankyou kindly.

I havnt done the malware scan yet as I was trying to get it all up to date first. Below is a pic of I think what you were asking for? There is literally just photos on here, about 650gb left on the hdd.

Cheers @Simon998 I have managed to get it all booted back up and doing all the windows 10 updates as we speak. Drive C is still running at 90-100% so not sure if that is because it is downloading a mass of updates. Will post back once installed.
