63k its just wear and tear, a bit of TLC will go a long way. Supposed to be going a weeks road trip taking in Skye and Applecross in June so have a few weeks to get things tip top!
Rack ends then, I shall investigate them and replace them first with the rod end too and get some camber bolts and an alignment at the same time. Prob worth replacing steering rack gaitors at the same time.

Anyone ever get to the bottom of these issues? Mine has a bit of a knock and feels vague, a little bit too much play in the steering and feels like its sliding a bit in faster bends.
The shocks and top mount bearings are new, the o/s driveshaft is newish - was thinking track rod ends and track...
Cheers Martin, John at Progrip told me 6 months ago there was play in the track rods lol so that might be all it is. Need to get camber bolts fitted and tracking done again so perfect opportunity to do it I guess.
I'll get it on a ramp locally this week to see if there's any more needing done.
For a while now my 172 has had a bit of play somewhere which was noticeable through the steering wheel when low speed maneouvring e.g. pulling out of a parking space.
I had replaced the o/s driveshaft in the hope it'd fix it but it didn't. Since then its had new shocks and springs so they're...

I'm sure it sounds good in the car but when you passed me en route to Tesco it sounded like a wet fart lol
I was told the same when I had a blueflame on my 182
That was me, R90 RYS
Saw you flash, gave you a subtle nod lol. Was that you I saw last night too coming off Alexandra Parade heading up to Baird St?
Must have been the Ferrari you heard as the 172 is standard bar the suspension, either that or its blowing lol
The camera on Duke St is for...
Ordered a Vivaz as a free replacement, uses Symbian software like some Nokias so hopefully the SE glitches have gone. Upgrade in September so just needs to last me 5 months anyway.
Update: complaints dept have offered me any free handset (non smart phone so not iphone, blackberry, HTC or x10 from my reckoning) brand new as a good will gesture.
And come Sep/Oct I get to upgrade again.
Need to go look at some phones tonight and let them know.
They've just retained a...
