Updates.
Another 5 hours today, the small bits take ages to bolt on.
Turbo and wastegates refitted and exhaust which is a royal pain in the arse to do even though its on vbands as it goes above the subframe instead of under. Routed heater hoses, oil lines to turbo.
It gets busy once the turbo...
Cheers mate. Its megane based engine and box (250 block/197 head).
T.trophy was the username of the previous owner (Haswell). He done the legwork on the meg conversion around 2012 iirc so probably one of the first 6 speed conversions.
I got it in 2020 in a million pieces, no wiring etc. I had...
Smoke testing boost circuit for leaks, setting actuator and various other bits on my mates mk3 gsi turbo. Road tested and it goes pretty well. Do like the c20let.
Updates.
R26 has been in regular use last week as off work. Hit 140k whilst out and about.
Milestone achieved.
I had booked Croft for easter Friday and the weather forecast was constantly changing however it said dry ish, so stuck the technomagnesio/ar1's on. Give it a quick snowfoam and...
At a guess Df236 listed, even though not currently active is suggesting there is or was a problem with the injection locking relay in the fusebox or other power or ground issue.
Its immob related defo if solid red light, earth or fusebox/loom wiring.
If hes pissing about with crank sensors etc hes way off. You need clip to show immob stuff to check key is working.
Check the relays in fusebox have mot been disturbed when removing/refitting battery, as the cover can...
Another 4 hours done today.
As everybody whos owned a megane knows the gearchange on the ndo gearbox is not great at the best of times, and this was pretty s**t by my standards, vague and did not self centre. Had to be careful changing gear fast as it was all over the place. This was a ongoing...
Solid 4 hours done today.
Engine and box dropped straight down and gearbox off.
No oil leaks suprisingly
Ttv smf with twin organic plate fitted using a cut off ndo spline to line up both plates.
Flywheel lock in place whilst torquing all bolts.
New luk concentric slave fitted.
New...
Cheers mate.
Prices to do engine conversions and stuff like this are always ridiculously expensive to do right. My advice to anyone is dont bother and buy something fast to begin with. Also my advice is avoid any cheap converted stuff as it will need a ton of money to put right. Like my...
Afternoons work and engine and box ready to drop out tomorrow.
Looking bare.
Parts all over the place.
Should see a bit more done tomorrow if all goes well.
Mk1 laguna all dissolved now, but can gaurantee if they have dodged the scrapyard the splitter is missing
Laguna splitter prob look decent too. Must be rare now
Quick airbag ecu recalibration and cruise control diagnostics on a nice RB 182 this morning.
Airbag took 2 mins. Cc was bad switch and issues with squib wiring. Easy work.
Update.
Been looking for a front splitter for a while as always felt like the kangoo front bumper could look a little better at the bottom. From looking around there is nothing decent available in the uk suprisingly especially with modified vans being more of the norm these days. I did see this...
Yep got the DeWalt for the big stuff, im going to upgrade it to a m18 fuel one soon so full team red.
I do like the compact size of the 3/8 stubby, will make life easier when in wheel arches etc.
Update.
Boot lock solenoid failed to commence on the orange dci. After several replacements in the past its a ten min job to swap.
Trim off.
Offending locking solenoid, one torx screw and out
When it failed last time i bought a chinese spec solenoid off ebay. Fitted that and remembered why i...
Made a start this evening.
Cars shuffled about so loads of room in the garage.
Front up.
Soon be in bits.
Reyland/Wilwood combo.
Will get cracking tomorrow.
Does seem decent from initial test. I do like the bolt tightening setting that just nips up.
Ive geared up with shallow and deep impact 3/8 sockets. I guess it might struggle if using extensions or adaptors.
Just got myself a milwankee m12 3/8 fuel stubby impact 1st gen to test the water to see if it will be of use.
Noted massive difference in output when using the 6Ah batteries compared to 2ah. I guess thats normal from what i read?
