Got a set of Ferodo Ds1.11 pads for the front so fitted them on Sunday morning.
Ten min pad change.
Whilst in the area i greased the lower swivels on the perfo hubs via the grease bolts. These are an essential mod for mk2 meg to keep the swivel bearings right, do it once a year and...
If discs still look good and pads have a decent amount on, might just need a deglaze to remove pad deposits. Try 70-30mph hard breaking x3 times basically get the brakes smoking. Let them cool and see if any better.
If discs are worn/lipped and pads about done, brembo hc discs and stock brembo...
Assuming currently running ok, eml not on and assume its had oil and filters done already. Maybe a set of plugs if unknown age.
EfiParts is the place to go.
Updates
Croft prep today, with one week to go i thought i best pull my finger out. Woke up early due to dieting/controlled starvation so on it at 8am.
First job pad change back to Ferodo ds1.11 and fit the posh pins. I refit stock pads for road use as saves the wear and excessive brake dust...
My mrs is brunette so must be another one. In coincidence she does drive it quite often and her mate is in Hartlepool so does get over there occasionally.
For everbody with the milwankee m12 tyre inflator.
Does anybody find the gauge is pretty inaccurate? I can put it on, inflate, remove i.e up to 35psi. Then if i refit i.e to raise pressure a little for whatever, it shows a different pressure it will show lower i.e. 33psi and then it will pump...
Yep lad basically copied off mine, ill let him off as hes sound though, its a nice thing.
Its lacking decent suspension from memory so id imagine itll be interesting to drive! Mine was horrendous before i fitted the Ast's.
Updates
Mot passed a few weeks back, no dramas as expected.
Running great as usual and been using it a couple of times a week.
Usual anti social parking
As ive been procrastinating and not using it for its intended trackday fun yet - ive booked a full day up at Croft on the 13th May. Its...
Updates.
Passed mot. Oil and filter changed for fresh 10/50 millers cfs nt+. Old stuff was still pretty clean as had only done Anglesey and road miles, around 1200 in total. Examined it and no chunks or any other shite so that will do me.
Ive had what sounds like an intermittent exhaust blow...
Turbo coolant hoses tee-d into both sides of heater wont cause an issue ref hot heater. Mine is plumbed in like that, no problems.
If you cant get any cold id imagine the flap in heater box is not moving right. If its climate then itll be the damaged cog.
Dcf 899p will easily spin subframe bolts out as they are tightened to a max of 105nm. It wont struggle with any bolts on a clio, it has no problems undoing hub nuts that are torqued to 280nm+. Crank pulley bolt flys out too no dramas at all.
Good to hear no bent valves.
Id imagine the bolt that goes in the block is still available from renault. Failing that stick a wanted up somebody will have 2nd hand. Its shared with loads of blocks from that era.
Updates.
Orange dci has been treated to a retrimmed steering wheel from Ottoretrims in nappa leather, with perforated grips, red band and grey stitching. Massive upgrade over old melted wheel, its a much nicer place to be.
Neww and posh wheel.
Still a great little car. Give it a run out today...
Mines had loads of use and yet to break, probably more use than most of the milwaukee ones on here:ROFLMAO:
Id buy red next time round but for the average diyer occasional use prob not worth the extra spend over the dewalt
It could be tdc sensor related, need a scanner to see if rpm is registered.
Can you hear the fuel pump prime? It only does it on 2nd cycle of ign turned on
Wont be the alternator causing non start.
If its cranking with no immobiliser light on then you need to check if fuel pump is working. Also is rpm needle moving when cranking as that gives you an indication that the tdc sensor is working
Borg and beck used to be a decent brand back in the day, used their parts without issue. Kind of dropped off the radar but have been seeing bits from them again recently
