That's rather over complicating matters! The bits around the edge are just to stop wind noise, the sealing is done using the stuff in the gun.
Last year I had my screen replaced, took one out of a car and got it fitted for £50 so it ended up being cheaper than the insurance excess. Can't...
The service light doesn't actually show it needs servicing it means another minor fault has been detected. There isn't an interval light on the ph2. Did the service light come on with other lights? Commonly it crops up with the airbag light or an and fault.
Fog light it defo corrosion on the...
@william... this help?
I know it was a really long time ago but you need to keep the airbag ECU as the diagnostics run through it. I've removed all the airbag wires from mine and will be tucking it up in the dash to make it all a bit cleaner :)
@Timmsy I'd give you a hand mate, of course! I have to say I'm not sure how much of the engine loom you'd be able to keep but I'm pretty sure you would have to go FBW. It would need to be a new ECU/UCH kit. My only question would be if the headlight plugs were the same. I'm sure they could be...
As always I still think this car would be seriously awesome if you converted all the wiring and engine management to ph2. Think of the climate control!!!
So you need to trace the wires in your car and match them up to your old seats (how it used to be wired up with no lights showing)
there should be 2 for pretensioner, 4 for side airbag and a ground or two. Once you've matched those up you can trace them on the new seats and fit them all in a...
where are you based?
Don't bother getting a connecting loom. Just get some bog standard connectors and wire up the seats yourself. Superseal connectors will do.
I used to have pirelli p zeros which I did about 2 hours of track time on and they stood up well to it. It wasn't all at once though, twenty minutes here and there. Took a lap or two to heat up, didn't self distruct and gave good grip. On the road they were very good too. Paid about £35 a corner...
It's only a half cage. Someone told me that if I had a cage they wouldn't let me on. Even though it's my first proper track day. I'm looking to give a £100 evening session at Brands a go shortly.
Of course I can give them a call but just happen to be wondering now when they're closed.
Cheers
G
As promised, piccies.
Finished the door card today. This one is much better than the first one and fits a lot better. Just need a little grommet to go in the window winder hole. The ones I've got are all slightly too big or too small.
Very happy with the cage being fitted now I can see it in...
Haven't seen this before Chris. Looks brilliant. Careful when deleting the carbon canister as if the tank doesn't have a way of breathing it pressurises in the warmer weather.
I drive through 3 speed cameras a day and haven't been done yet. Touch wood!!!
Seriously though speedos always over read by a small amount but speed isn't something which can be argued so the cameras have to be calibrated correctly. All have to be calibrated the same.
pressure wouldn't make a difference to the speedo reading, the rolling radius of the tyre is still the same.
They are over as in all cars. Speed cameras are calibrated accurately though In the average speed camera section on the m25 you could set cruise to 57 and not get done.
Can't wait to see this up and running mate. I was imaging having a 1.9 the otherday when was struggling up a hill on the motorway with the car going into limp mode every second. Hats off and bravo to you kind sir.
Got the foam tape to finish fitting the passengers door card which hopefully I'll get fitted tomorrow morning.
Fitted the cage today when I got home and it only took an hour which was good :) Used some washers on the top and some 50mm OD washers on the bottom to try and spread the load a bit...
That's my question. I have a 3 point harness and harness bar on the cage. Can I only mount 4+ point harnesses to a bar or am I inventing a problem here.
Has anyone got any pictures of the fixing their lap belts are mounted too? Want to start on this soon :) if you're cars been through scrutineering then that's a bonus :)
How have I missed so many of these updates in the last week. Why don't you try another bolt from the rear subframe things.
172 Cage!! Quick, get it in. If Lauren doesn't go nuts mines going in this weekend......
That's for everything.
Power cable is for the steering column ECU abs you'll need to run an earth cable from that too. Best to get plug with the ecu so you can splice on these cables.
12v live and earth for control box just splice into existing loom
