Yes, I got to Tom's at 5am. He says "get lost you beardy weirdy!" ;) The old engine is in the boot so I'll be using which ever Paul thinks is better. I'm expecting the "new" engine to have bore and head damage so won't be much use. Differences will be boring out to 83mm if there is bore...

That's a massive difference between the 136bhp wheel power and 201bhp corrected power. There's no way it's making over 200bhp unless it's got cams.

It made sense to buy new wheels and 15" tyres as once I've sold the 182 alloys it'll only cost about £100 more than just buying new 16" tyres.

I've never had that issue with DS2500 on my Monaco 172 or R26. How did you bed them in? They have always been great from cold as well.

PM some details. Trouble with those pads is they ruin paintwork so going to stick with DS2500.

I was going to sell it but I spoke to my Dad about it and he said I should rebuild it so that started to change my mind.

The R26 is now no longer for sale. Apologies to those who made enquiries, I was dreading the thought of receiving an offer for the asking price so that told me selling was the wrong decision. There's just too much time and effort gone into it to sell now so I've decided to rebuild the engine.
