Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Surprised you haven't finished yours. Isn't everything pretty much ready to go now?
As Gray says it is possible. Shame Renault didn't make the engine stronger like the Mk3 Meganes.
LOL
Congratulations on the baby :)
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Thanks Chi, hopefully catch up with you at a meet or track day sometime soon.
Thanks Scott, and for the advice on powder coating etc.
You'll be pleased to know my parts are done so will be collecting them tomorrow afternoon.
It hasn't come together as quickly...
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
I'll message you once dates for next year are released.
Cheers Fletch :)
Cheers Dan, you are never going to let me live that down! I still blame Gorms and Christopher. for that!
It's a lot of money I'm spending but it makes sense using my man maths. Cheaper...
Re: Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc
Glad you had a good time at Oulton Park, it's great track. Did Renault have any cars you could drive?
What were you driving Chi?
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Thanks Paul, I like to surprise ;)
Thanks for sorting the rods and pistons for me.
I didn't post much about the crash, hence why I've hardly updated the thread in a year.
It was either an M135i or keep this and I decided making the R26 new again is more fun...
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Yes, it will be hopefully.
I'm not sure that catch tank will fit! There's not much room so may have to get a race battery.
As Scott highlighted I'd like 330bhp and anything over would be a bonus.
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
It's now on 92.5k and currently doesn't have an engine or gearbox.
Insurance claim is still with the solicitors but it should resolved in next couple of months.
Update
I hadn't bothered to update this thread as I fell out of love with the car. I did consider...
Great meet, nice to see a lot of new faces.
There's going to be a meet in Winchester on Sunday 21st September so hopefully see you all there.

Not really, members want to say why they didn't attend this year so improvements can be made for next year.
You've discouraged me from saying why I didn't attend by deleting posts and I'm sure there are many more who won't give feedback as well now.
So you don't care about the opinions of members that didn't attend?
Great way of finding out how you can change CSS so more members attend next year.
To encourage feedback I'd set up a SurveyMonkey that everyone can complete and maybe offer a prize draw as an incentive.
RIP, at least no one else was involved.
I don't agree with the "we've all driven fast on a b road" comments. You should never be so on the limit that you risk crashing.
Looks like East Anglia so not near to Goodwood.
