Some help from the pros please?

It's like saying I need a car to enter a race, what shall I buy ? Is it off road, an F1 race, an economy race, a drag race... Just use the one you have and see where you're coming up short. If you need a macro lens, buy one. If you need a wide angle lens, buy one. If you need to photograph...

Three finger tap = Dashboard. WTF !

I've been using a program called 'MiddleClick' for quite some time now on the Mac. It simulates a middle click on the mouse (obviously), enabling a new tab to open or close for instance. This was working fine until JUST this moment. I switched off my wireless keyboard, and then plugged the...

Best memory card for Canon Eos 1100D?

Cheap as you can, higher class means higher speed but in reality you'll hardly know the difference. http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/19666791/Play-com-16GB-SDHC-Memory-Card-Class-10/Product.html pour examplé.

Newbie looking for a daily driver

All that's wrong that you can see from the ad... Common faults are shocks, gearboxes, timing belt failures (if not done properly).. £1200 becomes much larger if that all goes boobies up ! :quiet: Generally yes in my experience, but they're 10+ years old now. Depends how well they've been...

Recent pics of the R26 (few little updates)

HU looks good. Glad you sorted it in the end. Don't personally like fact it's on show (doesn't look like it is removable face / spinning to hide ?) but that's just me. Nice work :approve:

Newbie looking for a daily driver

Don't see many these days, most get broken. Car's worth <£1000 as a C/D, but wheels are £200+, interior is £200+ .. you get the idea. I personally wouldn't want one that had been smashed unless I knew what happened and who did the repairs etc.

Newbie looking for a daily driver

You can find cars for that price, but in most people's experience they are dogs and you'll pay twice that on servicing etc unless you're ridiculously lucky ! I think I'd be looking at £1.5>£2k minimum if I were to buy a Ph1 again today.

    182 to Ph1

Daft idea. You'll save nothing. You might get a grand in your bank between sales, but factor in a belt change or duff shocks or two new tyres and you'll wonder why you bothered. You want a £100 diesel or a mk1 Ka if you want cheap motoring.

Newbie looking for a daily driver

Ph1 has longer gearing than the ph2, no electronic aids and cable throttle. Mine had mild breathing mods (ITG, matched inlets, decat and exhaust) and would easily see high MPGs on a run. I don't think it ever went below 30 even when I was doing 2 miles each way to work on a dual carriageway...

    a little help please

MacBook you say... what about iPhoto ?! What software came with it ? I've never had a problem loading Canon's own stuff onto my Mac. Are they RAW or .jpeg files ?

    iTunes r****d....

That's what I'd do. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll think of a Plan B. Maybe tick the 'compliations' box ? What album is it..?

    iTunes r****d....

Highlight them all - right click - get info - type album name in box - close.

Newbie looking for a daily driver

Welcome ! You after a Ph1 172 ? Mine was good for 40 easily, and 45-50 on a run depending how careful I was :rasp: However, with only a grand, you're going to end up with a dog, bearing in mind these are now heading for 12 years old now. It'll probably want belts doing too which is £500+...

    Front door speakers help

My £80 Halfords special used to make my head hurt in the Clio. Such a small car, it makes a hell of a din ! If your HU doesn't do this OP, then get one that does. Top of the range Alpine FTW

    Front door speakers help

If you've already got a sub, then don't bother changing the speakers. If your HU can do it, turn the low end frequencies off and let the sub do that work. The door speakers are pretty impressive once they're only doing the high end stuff !

Some help from the pros please?

The one attached to your camera will do just fine. You could spend THOUSANDS and still not have the first clue about composing a decent photo. Get on Flickr, search about, explore, find things you like. See how people compose photos. Once you know your f-stops from your ISO you can think...

    Removing auto wipers.

Burny - I think you need the ignition on, engine off.. then either put the wipers on and off 2/3 times, or twiddle the intermittent thing a couple of times and it should beep at you. Same for the auto lights. Have a search.. you'll find it. Ralphizzle - I've no idea what you're on about...

    MacBook Memory

Macs are faster with more RAM. Programs open faster etc.. also if you're doing RAM intensive things, it will have more memory to work work. If you do a Crucial memory checker thing, through their website, it'll show you all the options you can have. I'd imagine you'd be able to put 16 max. in...

FB hosting sucks for one .. Try Flickr perhaps. The white balance is the key to colour temps. Have a play warming it up or cooling it down and see if it looks any better :approve:
