help me price my clio 172 cup performance exhaust

Something is only worth what someone will pay for it. I wouldn't personally be looking to spend more than £100 on that providing it doesn't blow. It's rusty as hell and looks like the chance of it making through the winter is slim IMO. No branding or age/milage on it either... Someone else...

Going abroad to work for 5 months. Sell or keep the 172?

If you're going to SORN it, fine, however is it worth still insuring ? £400 in insurance for 5 months (ouch) is better than losing a £3k car if it goes up in smoke or gets stolen... maybe you could drop the policy to TPF&T only ? Might save you a few quid a month and you'd be just as covered...

Little drive out in the Indy R1

Highly recommend some wileys or equivalent 'safety specs' instead of cheapo sunnies, assuming you value your eyesight ;)

    What do you guys want?

We want reps that are old enough to take us to the pub. Between you and Dan', your combined ages still isn't 18 FFS.

    Engine transplant

I've got an Impreza engine kicking about if you fancy a mega project. Why not just s/c the F4R ?

FLOL @ the guts in the face. Enjoying it ? That plate needs a giant turbo to match TBH.

Tar Spots and a White Mark

You'd be much better posting some pics otherwise it's down to the CS psychics to help you out ! Tar on the roof ? Remove it with tar remover... I'd bet you a whole shiny pound coin it's not tar. Brilliant.

Born to be stacked, but I love how it looks right now

^ It's grey. For info, the wheels are red.... :approve: Could have sources a Cup spoiler before painting FFS.

    Best Claying method..

The smell is something to behold too. Right up there with fresh cut grass and sizzling bacon.

    Screen Wipers Stopped working

Yeah defo. Sniff about around the glovebox as IIRC a bunch of relays were there on my ph1. You'll hear it click as you turn them on... same as the immobiliser etc.

    Screen Wipers Stopped working

Fuse or relay... maybe the motor has gone phut ?! Is it a single one on these...? Good luck !

    Worth getting winter tyres...

I'd probably buy a box of roofing tacks, and hammer them through from the inside... Studded tyres just to be safe.

    Worth getting winter tyres...

Cool, cheers. Mine are waiting in the garage on the freshly powdercoated wheels ready for some cold stuff :approve:

    Worth getting winter tyres...

Anyone know if it's worth 'scrubbing in' a set of winter rubber !? Just thinking how awful some new tyres are for the first few miles... Is it worth putting them on before it gets too cold or surprises us and snows one night, and doing 100 miles on them, to get the moulding surface off...

Plenty of threads on this in the right section (nudge nudge wink wink). :rasp:

    Best Claying method..

Dawn probably means tardis... AG tar remover in my experience is OK if you have a few dots, but a PiTA using it on much larger areas. Also, probably only use it on the lowers and rear but you'll see where it is anyway once the dirt has gone. If you've got tar on your roof, you've got other...

    McLaren MP4-12C Detail...

Good to see the owner has sensibly gone for the second wheel set with optional winter tyres, just as the cold season is approaching.

    The fourth and final incarnation!

Least agressive/interesting looking IMO, has awful electronic throttle and also driving aids (if you need TC/ESP in a <200hp FWD hatch, you're doing it wrong!), slowest (splitting hairs).

    Thinking of selling the 200...

Get a horse/alpaca/giraffe (awesome) to ride to work on. Sell the sh*t to garden folk to buy food for it... infinite money for food :D

    172, PH1 or PH2?

It's just like working on a small French hatchback ?! No different to the ph2 essentially .. if that's what you're asking ?
  27. TheEvilGiraffe

    172, PH1 or PH2?

It's your opinion on the looks. Essentially they are the same car. After owning both, I'd have a ph1 any day... I still miss mine a bit ! The Ph2 was just a small French girls car and TBH most of the time I forget I had it. You can change the dash and interior in a weekend, the steering...

arrrrrrgh sum1 has scratched my car

How deep is the scratch ? Just the paint, down to bare metal, or deep enough to hide a body in ? The irony is strong in this'un.

It's there... FLOL. 1 month. Well done.
