    Which colour

    Oh FFS Dawn.
  4. TheEvilGiraffe

    Which colour

IMO, get them powdercoated. £45 a corner round here... you'll spend half that on primer/paint/laquer, that's if you do it right the first time and then it'll get f**ked up when you get some new tyres.

    problem after problem, now this...

Daniel is spot on. You'd get 3-4k from the insurance surely !? You can get 172's for <£2k now... No brainer if you ask me. Sometimes you've just got to walk away. I've just sold a car for less than the gearbox rebuild last year cost me. No point throwing money at it for the rest of my...

Best 14" tyre to get, any ideas?

Try a 65 profile.. or 175 60 or 55. Might just be an awkward size.

Pure Motorsport in Padstow ? Give him a call. IIRC 'they' are one man band... The guy comes highly recommended from anyone I've ever spoken to :)

How accurate is the clio fuel guage?

Mine used to go to the red light every time, then another 50 miles, then I'd fill it. Best idea IMO is to see where the needle is, brim it, and note how much you put in. It's a 50 litre tank, so if you put 40 litres in, you know you were safe. Do that a few times and you'll soon see if the...

Why is this not on the Effwuns yet ?

    Rear Lights :@

Yes. Put them back on eBay and get rid of them........ However, a dodgy earth, wrong connections, loose wire, crappy manufacturing .. could be any of them frankly.

    turbo for a 1.2?

You could get 500HP out if it if you tried, but it would involve a LOT of cash. Anything is possible (almost) with enough boost, NoS and forged parts haha !! Look for a dCi 80 or 100.. MUCH faster than a 1.2 and probably not a lot more expensive to run/insure etc. Much nicer to drive...

clio 1.2 8v conversion, wich is the best engine to go for??

^what he said. Insurance will be invalid in the event of something happening. You might not care about losing your car, but being personally sued if for instance you're involved in a fatal RTA... paying that off for the rest of your life and doing time is less appealing to me personally than...

Is it wrong to want another 1*2??

This !!! Matched inlets, filter, exhaust+decat.. buckets, bit of stripping.. see how you feel. Cams and bodies later if you feel it needs more grunt when it's due a belt.

Does anyone know what alloys these are?

OZ SuperTurismo is my feeling... or a rip off version.

    Where is the oil cap?

The oooo--- is the max-min equivalent on the dipstick, not "way too low". When I changed my oil, I found it to be spot on as it got topped up !

    Carbon Turbo Lotus

Oh for goodness sake... that's just knocked the new Enzo off the top of my Christmas list. T'woman's not going to be happy.......
  29. TheEvilGiraffe

    Where is the oil cap?

Oil OK should come on every time you put the ignition on (or is it after starting the car?)... it means, as it states, oil is OK. :S

Going abroad to work for 5 months. Sell or keep the 172?

Only a lack of MOT stops your insurance being valid in the event of an accident as far as I'm aware. I don't know how it works if the MOT runs out, and it's stolen from a locked garage !? Nothing to do with an MOT there if you see what I mean... Best bet is the OP rings his insurance and...
