I might not even run an ecu, the pump is the old style chip controlled version, which can be swapped out for a 306 TD Bosch pump.
Then if I want revs , I'd have to do it old school and convert the alternator signal for it.
so that leaves , pump stop switch / glow plugs and other silly little...
I know my dti engine has a ph1 jc5 box.
Hole in the top but unsure if that's the hole for the speedo gear.
( hopefully the mk1 clocks will be near bang on calibration for speed indication)
Its wether the rest of the parts I have fit, ie 172 front suspension set up. Mk1 subframe looks...
Throw it into fifth and dump the clutch with handbrake/brakes on. Will stop It from running off. Unfortunately it may destroy the engine
only other way is block the inlet off but you won't have time to react
Sorry if in wrong section )
As above. I have a 172 widetrack conversion kit here, with the Intention of refitting it back to my dci, although now I've lost all love for it , getting rather board of fixing random parts and a recent engine build has finally made me deside I want something older...
Turbo had it. Seen it a few times. Your lucky it's switching off lol, and not running off the rev counter.
Diesel knock will possibly be something internal not happy with the high revs
either that out you messing about fitting cruise has disturbed wiring else where , caulsing the ecu to go nuts !
Depending how bad yours is ( if it's the turbo at fault )
i would either see if it's cheaper to get it rebuilt by a turbo recon specialist or go Renault.
never chance it with turbos on a diesel , only takes the seals to break and you will destroy the engine.
Anyway, first inspect , buy last!
Yes , has to be a KP35 turbo for a 1.5dci ( it's also used on pug/ford 1.4 hdi/tdci engines but different CHRA housing )
cheap ones on ebay I would avoid. I had a cheap new one... killed it off pritty quick (China crap )
renault are about 300 something + VAT
You either have a knackered turbo ( although usually when they go the ecu has a hissy fit and makes the dci's roll coal like an old diesel train )
or hose /intercooler damaged.
Check and check again. £300 odd for a new turbo is allot of money's now the first gen k9ks are pritty much like...
