I'm guessing the salty wet conditions at the moment, combined with the fresh surface on the disc ? Mine feel a bit crunchy first thing but its just the rusty surface.

V12's are pretty damn good ! Lots of grip in the wet, and more than adequate in the dry.

Defo change for a s/steel one. From personal experience, changing one part of the exhaust (say the back box) because it's blowing / rusty will mean you will definitely change the rest of it in a matter of weeks. Just get it all changed.
Standard Renault exhausts are made from cheese anyway.
