It is horses for courses. Regarding 250bhp per ton, to put some context on it and how much 'fun' it is;
- 2014 Porsche 911 (991) Targa S: 254bhp per ton
- Audi r8 Spyder v8: 240.9bhp per ton
- Ford Focus RS500: 238.4 bhp per ton
- Mercedes c63 AMG (2007 onwards): 260bhp per ton.
300bhp per...
Have you driven a boosted clio?
A mapped r26 would run what, circa 270bhp. That's 196 bhp per ton. A boosted clio will be between 250 to 300 Bhp per ton. That is quite a difference and on track the two won't be competing (driver dependant).
I agree that a standard clio will be fun on track...
My best advice would be to see if you could get a passenger ride / lap in one local to you. It will help make your mind up either way.
Where are you based?
Rule number 5 and rule number 7.

Whilst discussing a previous member isn't against the rules, discussing why they were banned / whether it was a good idea to ban them etc etc is.
Guys, can you not read? The rules are the rules. I didn't make them. PM admin if you wish to express your displeasure with them.
This is the last polite warning. Next it will just be points.
If you can get the kit secondhand (like I did) then to buy it and get it fitted and mapped I'd budget £5k all in.
But...I already had a gripper diff, which is another £2k fitted.
If you are budgeting for a new kit, with a diff, fitted and mapped, then I'd say you need £8k.
As I said...
It isn't the same service. One is a faceless company I have never used. One is a member on here who is also a paying trader.
It is called repurchase loyalty. George's prices are always low. The company posted will not have them on offer for ever. I'd rather support the person who always has...
G 172 on here (George) all day, every day. Even if it is more £.
He is spot on, very helpful and the speed in which the delivery goes out amazes me time and time again. Top man.
Depends what horsepower / torque and the 'nature' of the charged set up. On mine, it is a standard box with a Gripper LSD fitted. That is with 250 bhp and 220lb ft with a supercharger, so a smoother power curve. Big figure turbos which deliver it in one large post 4k packet will lunch a standard...
Better the devil you know in my opinion.
With the exception of the sachs and cosmetics (seats, colour, sticker, spoiler) they are essentially exactly the same car.
If you do boost it, you need to be committed to it for the long term (i.e. forever) else it just doesn't make sense financially. You need to make sure it delivers the power smoothly and puts it down (diff etc) else there isn't much point boosting it tbh. So, if you do go for it, don't scrimp on...
Guys, people are entitled to differing opinions. Let's not descend into personal insults please.
Regards the video, I think it's pretty cool. I don't like what's been done to the mustang though.
I f**king love mustangs. I'll stick a photo of my brother in laws up when I get to a laptop. @hans...
