Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Cheers Ant! Was nice to put it about and test the new mods :)
Thanks Matt, you've got PM :)
I've bonded nicely with the PMS shifter, great bit of kit :) Was great to catch up Andy, let me know when the Trophy arrives and we'll get together again.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
So, the flamer had its 'shake down' test this weekend just gone. 748 miles along some of the best roads the UK (Wales) has to offer. Was a great weekend, with great company and I am pleased to say the car performed perfectly. Made me realise how much I...
Lol! Pretty much. You get used to it. My eyeline for the road is downwards, so it doesn't get in the way.
You should see me in an mx5. I look like Donkey Kong on Mariokart!
748 miles, was a truly awesome trip. Best road driving I have done for a long time. Just road after road of decent Tarmac, views and challenging bends. :)
Great photos. Company was ok, I suppose ;) Cheers guys!
Need to adjust the cable / bonnet release mechanism. Basically a cable between the catch and the pull lever. Needs tightening.
I'd be careful, as I know just how annoying it can be if it fails completely. I got into mine eventually but only because I wasn't running arch liners. It's a smash the...
4th? Thought the race was on the 5th - Saturday?
I'm planning being there on the 5th so be good to catch up if you're about. :)
PS. If I was you I'd make the £8k payment to the mortgage asap, removes temptation! Lol!
It is @Ghm in his new Leon.
He lives in Dumbarton and you have a good memory on the Arctic;

Best for me is 28th April if Monday only. But don't plan it around me bud. I'm away from 11th April for 8 days. Anytime after that and I'll try to get along. :)
Waterpump is £52.50 for the part, and I'd only go genuine Renault.
As Scott said, they shouldn't touch the cambelt but the aux belt needs doing. Make sure they do the aux belt the right way (it shouldn't rub on the cambelt cover after) as it's an easy mistake to make.
The waterpump is on back...
Good stuff Porkie I've got James number so I'll text when we're over there, see if we can hook up for a beer. Make sure you allow time for the pit walk and to walk some of the track after the race. We're on Houx again. You going to the Pistonheads Mad Friday service? Last years was brilliant. :)...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Cheers Andy, let me know which days you're doing and hopefully we'll crossover on one. How is yours fairing? If not, maybe catch up at one of the French Trophy race meets?
I thought that was the case. Having looked, the Bedford RS one I'm not doing as...
Just swap them. I'm sure James won't notice ;)
Interesting on the DS3000s and 'warping'. I've just fitted a set so will keep my eye on it.
Sonny the racecar looks lovely, glad it's come together and survived testing. Hopefully catch up at one of the races this year. Which ones are you doing?
