More progress, happy days. Looks nice clean.
Mine is getting MOT'd today / tomorrow. Garage is just removing some of the Christmas tree dash lights! Lol!
Don't think there is a right up but briefly;
- remove old airbox
- disconnect and remove battery
- remove battery bracket
- fit ktr induction kit. You want it in snug behind the passenger headlight and don't trap the battery connection underneath it. Also, make sure the jubilee clips are...
Mmm.
Has your car been mapped by anyone else / including RS Tuner beforehand? You can tell as when you first connect the page will open with a list of programming history.
Are you 100 per cent sure it's a new unit? I had that, but mine is second hand. Henk sent a VCi unlock code to me which you should enter before doing what I've said above.
I did yes, because I have a 12v charger. You can run the risk, but if the battery dies when your halfway though it can cause problems with the ECU / Map writing.
Read ECU - then follow instructions on screen.
Read Cal - then follow instructions on screen.
You'll have to save an .RST file after reading the ECU. Then a .Cal file after you have read the Calibration.
Once you have saved these, click write ECU and follow instructions. It will ask you...
You need to do what he has said. Both ECU and Cal need backing up. Then write the ECU file (RST) then write the Cal file. Basically, follow MartinR's guide on here.
Some people don't need to do the RST file.
That worries me. I'm trying to overwrite a k-tec map for cams, to the 98ron as it's standard cam wise now. Mine seems to work, idle is smoother at. 1k. Haven't driven mine in anger yet as awaiting my MOT tomorrow.
Could you rotate the disc freely? Was it making any noise? I.e. Grinding on application?
It may just be a case of too much heat through yours on track bud. How 'heavy' a braker are you? They are bad, especially after such a short time and the fact you say you bedded the pads in ok.
Basically follow MartinR's guide in terms of purchase and backing up both the ECU file and the Cal. File. Then just write the Cal. File. So you miss out the write ECU file stage.
I did mine at the weekend. Cars not MOT'd so I can't drive it but it told me the cal was successfully written on...
Not any more bud, depends on the software on the RS tuner I believe;

Op see the thread I posted above. Henk confirms you only need the Cal. File. Unsure why the difference isn't noticeable. Was it...
s**t about the hoses bud :(
They pulled the same stunt on me. '4 weeks'. Then '5 weeks'. Then 6. I rang up in week 5 and basically said the hoses were preventing me finishing an entire engine rebuild.
Shiny stuff, looks good as ever! You should put some Nimbus heat shield on. Mine looks great...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Cheers dude, they were incredibly loose so I've tightened them up. I'll get the garage to check them on Monday. :)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Lol. It's knocking like a b**ch when it goes over a bump. Not sure what that maybe. Seems to come from front left.
Aero catches are on the cards.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Cheers bud, hugely appreciated. Yep, clearly a criminal life isnt for us.
Thanks Scott, Alignment and MOT on Monday and hopefully i'll take it on a run Monday night. Now its running i'm going to clean it externally this weekend and trial fit the OZ's...
Easy fix if the person you are helping doesn't lock himself out of his house, and have a broken bonnet catch which means we couldn't get into the car. :)
Really appreciate your help bud, good to meet.
Ooft. Proper job that. Sorry to see James.
I hope mine doesn't do the same, although mine is set up nowhere near as aggressively as yours I believe. Poor
show from Gripper though.
