Was excellent Ernie. Loads done to the car, top notch BBQ and beers consumed, watched the rugby and was good to catch up with everyone. You were missed. x
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Hay bud, I'll ask him. Swing by anyway though, as there is plenty going on. I'll PM you my address :)
Sounds good! Slight problem, in that I need to source a BBQ.....
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
1:37 and Budgie and I have just finished for the evening. Him and Nick172Cup are legends :)
Plenty left to do tomorrow and got lots of photos :)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Sadly not bud, a close friend is getting married. So that is the third CSS I have missed. Gutted.
It will be at the camping Ron is organising though :)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Leaving it as it is for the minute. It's 'Clubsport' spec - lol. I like carpets and having my stereo for long journeys (Le Mans, Scotland, the ring).
Plus, if I was bothered about weight saving I'd be starting on myself before the car! ;)
When it's...

Rob Scrooge TheEvilGiraffe Phase1sr
- guys can you remind me to give one of you the engine cover I've said cat171 can have. I have a brain like a sieve at the moment :(
Sounds like you have done most of the mechanical / wear and tear things to be honest. Only other things are cosmetic but will freshen it up;
- new expansion tank / coolant bottle.
- spray the upper and Lower grille satin black
- brake fluid flush and replace with ATE super blue
- braided brake...
This. I have to use two jacks, one on the 'cheese point' shown above to get it high enough to get a second jack onto a stronger chassis point. Before the engine came out I got quite adept at driving it onto a brick to save using the 'cheese point'. :)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Cheers :) To be honest, it is good fun and whether the engine is black, white, silver, orange, pink or blue - the main thing is it's healthy and I can trust it. Unlike the old one. Lol.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
I spoke to Dan at SJM and he is going to sort me the relevant bits for the supercharger kit when it comes round. I think he can get pretty good prices on Rotrex iirc. :)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Lol! Don't tempt me. All in good time.
You love the white really. Wheels - staying black, for now...
PMS Shifter has your name written all over it in terms of fitting ;)
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
They came from @Christopher. in black and were far too good a price to turn down! I'll see what they're like black, then may get them powdercoated white when I put a new set of AD08s on them.
Cheers bud, it is a long term commitment. No point spending...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
I make no promises :)
Also, I need to do some gubbins on RS Tuner, and it needs a clean and I want to trial fit the Black OZ F1's, and I'd like to clean it as its covered in grime, and I'd like to take some photos....and Nick needs his Monaco compression...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Don't worry, as Mike said, there is rather a long list to tick off so there will be plenty to do. I need to sort the brakes out, which can't be done until Scrooge makes up the final brake line for the rear ;)
And the PMS shifter will be an absolute...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Sounds good bud :) Chuckled at Fish Bowl! Shall we get you a snorkel?
Yep, I just intend to regularly take off the manifold to keep my eye on it and clean it up. With the new man cave, stuff like that is much easier than doing it outside in the rain!
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
You best get round early bud, the Budgie and Herbertez are unleashed on it from about 9ish! :)
Gloves, sorted!
See you Saturday, i'm hoping the GTI is running as I haven't seen it for a while. I am sure it will go brown, but to be honest, at least its...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Thanks Scott. Welcome to the world of Renault and Cliosport.net. Yep there are a good crowd on here, loads of technical knowledge and i've been lucky that so many have helped in the resurrection of the flamer :) Just avoid that Budgie character, he is a...
