Looks good bud, definitely an improvement. Can't beat a good flamer! The standard springs are black, I know, as I have a set in the loft I looked at yesterday. The C2 aerial is a must get, tidied mine up no end.
Chippen went with 20mm, but I had rubbing issues with 20mm on track on mine. In the...
Looks great mate. Agree with sorting the numberplate and getting spacers. If you want to see what kind of difference 15mm spacers all round look like, have a look in my project thread chap. I'd change the renaultsport badge to the 197 one, something else i've done on mine if you want to see what...
You sure his mechanic isn't just partaking in April Fools day. Or you are?
If not, mechanic is a bonafide r****d, and I wouldn't give him an Early Learning Centre car to fix, let alone my RS.
Looks good, but as others have said - photos are way overcooked.
Spoiler wise - cup spoilers are for peasants :p Trophy / v6 spoiler is the way forward :)
Looks awesome. 1.6 or 1.8? And has it got the LSD?
When I first looked for a track day car, it was either one of these or the 172. The fact I couldn't fit in an mx5 meant my decision was made for me :(
Not that I regret it too much, as it meant I got the flamer in the end :)
I wouldn't worry too much about cost either, that approach I can endorse fully :)
It is shaping up beautifully mate, and its going to be awesome. That is money well spent in my eyes. I'm jealous, and off to car and classic to hunt a potential project down.
Everyone who says this, then acts on it, seems to return in due course. Here is a quick list off the top of my head, and is probably the tip of the iceberg;
Luke
Pete
DMallett
Scott
Rob (not returned yet, but when the right ph1 appears - boom).
Sir_Dave (who will be back again, he is a repeat...
That's awesome. I absolutely love seeing progress on this car, great thread.
If you don't mind telling me, how much does a decent body resto and paint job like that cost? PM if you don't want to stick on here.
Good progress made on this. Not sure I'd have plumped for k-tec coilies, but each to their own. Looks good, and will be great when Stage 3 is complete ;) I'd also move the brakes up the list. This going on track at some point? Last thing - I'd change the GB plate, fussy like that - nice clean...
Good progress old boy, good progress. The Gripper is epic, I love it in mine and I don't even drive it anywhere as well as you'll drive yours :o. It does make quite a noise, clunky clunk clunk.
Be great to see this run competitively after so long and such misfortune due to a 'wrister'. Hope it...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Should peddle along nicely :). I'm so torn between NA and boost when I rebuild mine, so I'll be interested to see how yours shapes up. Great work!
If you're not going for coilovers, I'd agree that it probably needs to be 16's. Having said that, you know you want coilovers really, so get 15's then force yourself to get coilovers :)
Great work on the CC buttons. Shame I'm not at CSS this year, as I'd like a closer inspection of the brake...
Subscribed to this, looks awesome. I love caymans, I really do. Don't know why I bought a 911, I reckon if I'd bought a cayman I'd still have it as I type this.
