Some people just clearly overestimate their abilities and underestimate the corner. I really want to do the ring, but seeing videos like this make me question if its worth going.

Minor or major service? If its cambelt etc, I'd make 100 per cent sure they have experience on an F4r engine. It's very easy to goof it up, with serious repercussions. Sometimes it's worth travelling further to guarantee good quality work.
