Spotted a couple today.
Black gold 55 plate 182 with cup pack parked up on Scotswood Road in Newcastle around half one.
Blue 172 cup on Thinford roundabout around 3-ish,didnt get reg as I just caught a glimpse but it had black wheels and looked pretty low.
Cheers Ross.
Mine was down in the service book as been done 12k/2 years ago.I didn't trust the book so I had it done anyway, when the covers came off the belt and pulleys looked virtually brand spanking.Having it changed was money well spent though as I was always dreading going out in the car beforehand.
This thread makes me both want and not want a megane in equal measure.Fair play to you for having the dedication to see it though, most would have chucked the towel in long ago!
Cheers Ross.
Its only £12.60 if you go to your local skoda dealer.I wanted a genuine Renault one but even with discount from West's it still costs over a ton so I went for the skoda instead. Its really easy to fit, although it does need a slight trim at either end.I will probably keep my eyes open for a cheap...
Light blue 197 in Ponteland early doors this morning.
Arctic blue 182 with quad exhausts in Blaydon around 10 am.
White 197 in the new Bellway estate at Earsdon around lunchtime.
Cheers Ross.
Thanks very much,im trying to work my way through and sort out any niggles with it before it gets a few fancy bits.
I know what you mean about the old belts,it was getting to the point where I was dreading taking the car out in case it made the dreaded ping, clatter, clatter!
Cheers Ross.
The cheaper belt changes were part of what attracted me to a cup in the first place! Im the same as you,I rarely use the aircon in my other cars so not having it doesn't really bother me.
I feel like the poor relation with you two having the optional climate!
A week or so after I bought the car I bought a skoda splitter as mine had been smashed off at some point by the previous owner and I couldn't face paying the amount Renault remove from your wallet for one.Due to my laziness...
Since having the dephaser/belts changed at the weekend the car has been running lots smoother especially from cold where its a lot less rough. It also feels a bit quicker at high revs as well but it could just be the placebo effect!
Still a few jobs to be done though & I have been getting an...
Just looked on demon thieves and your right, last time I looked (couple of years back now) everywhere sold the kevlar/carbon and the grp revolutions but nobody listed the carbon fibre version although the revenge was available in carbon.Maybe a shortage from Corbeau at the time or something...
My last set of buckets were carbon fibre corbeau revolutions. They were pretty expensive but very comfortable for a fixed bucket.Im not sure they still make the carbon fibre ones anymore but its the same shell for the carbon/kevlar & grp ones anyway I think.Only niggle for me was that im right in...
Had a good day with the car today,spent the morning with a local forum member who knows what he's doing and had the following work done;
Timing belt kit fitted
New dephaser pulley
New crank pulley bolt fitted
Rocker cover removed and re-sealed
Oil & filter change
The service book showed the...
My solution would be to countersink the bolts into the throttle spindle (have also read the Vizard book but cant for the life of me remember what the bolt mods were).
Cheers Ross.
Spotted an 04 plate arctic blue 182 this morning parked up at a sandwhich van on the A1 near Cramlington.
Then spotted the same liquid yellow 182 I seem to see every week near the golf course in Morpeth around lunch time.
Shortly afterwards I spotted a black 182 heading north on the A1 near...
Looks like a tw*t to get in at,if the torx bit doesn't work a set of these could be your friend http://www.auntiesatticonline.co.uk/bergen-professional-5-piece-12-drive-bolt-extractor-kit-with-reverse-thread-8---16mm-ber2501-1169-p.asp. Basically a more substantial easy out which is a good thing...
Took the boy to Edinburgh zoo for his birthday today and spotted a few on the way.
First was a blue 172 cup on the Edinbrugh city bypass around lunchtime, was lowered on what looked to be aftermarket wheels and had silver stripes.
Second also on the city bypass around 5 o'clock was an 11 reg...
