@frayz ive found the 1155 unreal on the road and track - trumps the ds2500 - I’ve had both. You do get some squeal from the 1155, but the bite they give more than makes up for that.
1155’a blew my mind how much more confidence I had in braking distances. When they’re up to temp, they were...
Just don’t go OTT and lose sight.. do the bare minimum to get it through an MOT and road worthy. Then at least you can enjoy the car through the stages of improvement. You’ll feel the car has value if you have use of it.
Standard engine and enjoy it. You’ll regret ripping it apart and having an unreliable/expensive turbo build. Or it’ll get broken and split for parts half way through the build.
Standard engine is the best way to enjoy these...!
Mixed reviews from what I’ve heard.
I’ve never had issues with using standard coolant on cars for track.
That evans stuff is just another money spinner IMO.
Can’t fault mine - got the electric fold away tow bar too. So it covers all bases. They’re a proper well rounded vehicle.
R dynamic pack makes a huge difference also.
Love a long term project thread.
I wouldn’t worry about the belts too much - I know of a few cars years over due belts and one I know of still on it’s original belt...! On a 53 plate..! Lol.
just get them done when you get back and I’m sure you’ll be perfectly fine.
I’m exactly like this, buy something with my heart, throw £££ at it - get it running right and then sell it now it’s running right 😂 but still loose ££££
Definitely keep it - those numbers on the clock mean nothing. You could buy a lower mileage one, but that never means it’s in better condition.
Different cars, but I’ve recently bought a Discovery 3 with 188,000 miles (now on 193,000) because it drove nicer than the one I test drove earlier...
I’ve recently sold mine to a mate, I wish I’d kept the car - it was bomb proof for me and it still is with him. I think it’s on about 140,000 now and no signs of giving up yet.
The only tyre you’ll ever need. Perfect all round for wet and semi slick outer edge.
