High performance pads that still cope on the road.

1155’s are my go to track pads.

Make my mind up for me!

Loved my 200. So much more spacious inside and the 6 speed box made a big difference for me, compared to 5 in the 1*2’s

    In 5 years time

99p a litre for unleaded as of today! That’s the same price of fuel in 2008 when I had my Ph1 172! 😍

High performance pads that still cope on the road.

@frayz ive found the 1155 unreal on the road and track - trumps the ds2500 - I’ve had both. You do get some squeal from the 1155, but the bite they give more than makes up for that. 1155’a blew my mind how much more confidence I had in braking distances. When they’re up to temp, they were...

Start of my 172 Cup resto project

Just don’t go OTT and lose sight.. do the bare minimum to get it through an MOT and road worthy. Then at least you can enjoy the car through the stages of improvement. You’ll feel the car has value if you have use of it.

Start of my 172 Cup resto project

Standard engine and enjoy it. You’ll regret ripping it apart and having an unreliable/expensive turbo build. Or it’ll get broken and split for parts half way through the build. Standard engine is the best way to enjoy these...!

    Water less coolant

Mixed reviews from what I’ve heard. I’ve never had issues with using standard coolant on cars for track. That evans stuff is just another money spinner IMO.

Land Rover Discovery 3 - Bargain SUV

Can’t fault mine - got the electric fold away tow bar too. So it covers all bases. They’re a proper well rounded vehicle. R dynamic pack makes a huge difference also.

    B-shaw’s PH1 Exclusive

Love a long term project thread. I wouldn’t worry about the belts too much - I know of a few cars years over due belts and one I know of still on it’s original belt...! On a 53 plate..! Lol. just get them done when you get back and I’m sure you’ll be perfectly fine.

When is it time to call it a day?

Definitely keep it - those numbers on the clock mean nothing. You could buy a lower mileage one, but that never means it’s in better condition. Different cars, but I’ve recently bought a Discovery 3 with 188,000 miles (now on 193,000) because it drove nicer than the one I test drove earlier...

New owner of Clio sport 197

No. AD08’s are just a mild semi slick. Even on a track compound R888 you still don’t need a baffled sump.

Work colleague purchased an '05 Clio 1.5DCi as their first car...

I’ve recently sold mine to a mate, I wish I’d kept the car - it was bomb proof for me and it still is with him. I think it’s on about 140,000 now and no signs of giving up yet.
