Just very very lucky :) They are both damaged, but in different ways. Repair work starts tomorrow.

Have you managed to get the 'thing' off the inside of the roof underneath the lining. More sound deadening I guess

I think the point is; if you force the change and damage the syncro you are going to have future problems changing gear. Anyway, what more do you want. He thought there was a problem, he took it to a garage which fixed the symptoms. The symptoms reoccured, the garage looked at it and said...

Its hard to threaten people with something you have already done. And the gearbox isnt good at shifting fast, the clio box has never been

The RS models have an extra mount to those 3 you listed. Tt is on the front nearside of the subframe at the bottom, and is a bit L shapedish

Anyone ever fitted twin pot rear brakes? Looking round for some, i think Alcon do some I can get to fit but want to see if there are any others around. They still need to have a cable handbrake lug aswell; damn those Construction and Use regs ;)

I may be being dumb but.... As it is a 'loan' did it not show on an HPI check? If the logbook was in your name how did they actually take posession of the car from you? Not helpful i know, but just curious

Plenty of second hand 1.2 engine around, but not necessarily reconditioned. If you are after a 172 engine or similar your best bet is a breakers

What engine? The only place you are going to get a *new* engine from is Renault I guess
